I'm Ok with being proven wrong on this one but nothing in that Miami team indicates they have any hope in this...beyond a slew of red cards to Nashville.

Edit: 3-0 now - its Nashville

Og knows. I am excited for this matchup. A bit worried about our ability to break them down though. Let's see those predicted starting line-ups.

    Gonna say the lineup is...

    Westberg
    Auro-Gonzalez-Mavinga-Laryea
    Piatti-Delgado-Bradley-Osorio
    Pozuelo
    Akinola

Altidore, Endoh, DeLeon, Ciman, Priso, Zavaleta and Silva as the subs. (Depends on the health of Morrow and Bono)

Given the opponent I really wish this game could be played at BMO. That feeling could have had an effect.

Nashville on four days rest. The Reds will need to find their attacking mojo back which should be easier to achieve with the return of Pablo Piati. Having Ritchie back will also be huge.

This team has been unpredictable all year so I won't make any predictions other than it will be a low scoring game. 1 nil either way wouldn't surprise me.

Jaap Stam knows a thing or two about defending.
Nashville is one of the stingiest defence in the league. I wish TFC got Walker Zimmermann instead of Omar Gonzalez.

But Nashville doesn't score much either.

Probably a game of Nashville high pressure bunkering and TFC pinging the ball around but can't breakdown Nashville defence. Then a lucky bounce creates a chance for 1-0 win for either team

I wish we'd heard more from the Toronto training this week.

    I'm going to guess:

    Westberg
    Auro-Gonzalez-Mavinga-Laryea
    Piatti-Delgado-Poxuelo-Osorio
    Altidore--Akinola

But there are a lot of legs on that line up that haven't seen a full match in a while, so it's probably unlikely. I do think Bradley starting on the bench is a possibility, but only if Delgado and Piatti are ready.

The bright side of not hearing much from training is our opponents don't know either.

I disagree with Bradley being a bench possibility. Vanney isn't benching Bradley, even though he should.

Our Captain needs to be out there. is that even a question?

Gary Smith knows a lot about defensive midfielders.

Osorio or Poz were this team's captain this year & more effective when playing.

Bradley creates a vulnerability, especially when with any slow CB's near him. He warps play around him, asking to start every play. He reduces Poz' effectiveness by denying quick ball movement. He forces Osorio or Delgado to be played out of position.

Great player in his time - might still have a great game in him against the right team. Nashville isn't that team as we need quick ball movement & Bradley isn't that anymore.

    Might be video later

This worth being aware of after Wheeler tweet a few days ago

With the way everything was locked down during training in the meantime, this could mean everything or nothing. I'm certain they don't want Nashville to have any idea who will be playing.

Tell this to Vanney my friend!

IMO if Vanney is the coach of TFC, Bradley will not miss even a second of starting for TFC until he's 36, unless he's injured, or he is the one asking to not start.
Unfortunatelly it is what it is...

I love Bradley, he is an absolute legend for this club. That extension is already looking like a big mistake though.

Winner of this match will play Columbus (they do not reseed playoffs after round 1).

Do not overlook Nashville - they are not going to be a push over at all. Of the 3 teams we could have played, I thought our team is likely set up the worst against them. They don't press high, so Bradley will get the ball & slow it down. They have excellent DM's, so Poz & Oso & Piatti will have difficulty getting past. Zimmerman is good in the air & can't be bullied so Jozy/Ayo might struggle. Meanwhile, they are great on set pieces (a weakness of ours).

Where we would beat these guys is with width & pace. But...alas.

Hard to call it a mistake. At the time I don’t think
any of us saw such a massive regression on the cards.

At the price of his current salary is no mistake at all, but the big mistake is Vanney always playing him, no matter what.

A max TAM player should have the ability to play every game effectively, in my opinion. If this was a non-salary cap league I would have no issue with Bradley's extension.

His broken foot and knee injury were both serious and likely to slow him down. He will be more mobile and more up to game speed after the last ten days of training. I wouldn’t write him off yet.
