Man if we only had the whole team available we could do some damage....but we don't so....

I’d still prefer we bench the key guys for this. Pozuelo, Laryea, Akinola, Mavinga, Gonzalez should sit.

I'd play the strongest side possible and see where the other games are at during halftime...

This would actually be the smarter approach

    Methods to clinch shield:
    1) Do better than the Union (they tie we win; they lose we tie)
    2) We win by 15
    3) Philly ties or loses and Red Bulls catch covid and game is cancelled. We win by PPG.

Given the last two are unlikely, let's go Revs and Reds

Nice job, staying up for the Election and going though all the math, but you forgot one.

    4) Philly game gets cancelled due to COVID and we win.. our PPG goes to 2.04 to their 2.00...LOL

    Columbus @ Orlando tonight

Columbus win - we could end up in third still

Draw or Orlando win - we are guaranteed at least second

    **********

You want second so you will play on of 7th through 9th in the first round.

Orlando just pulled out a result for us at the end while down a man - Second place in the East seems assured now - only Philly and Portland can finish ahead of us now....Portland is now losing so now it’s only Philadelphia that can finish ahead of us now — MLS Cup in Hartford?! - I’m sure the league is really hoping for that (?!) — it may not matter as I’m sure a potential playoff bubble will be discussed in the intervening weeks after Nov 8, until the playoffs are starting.

WTF was Nani's red card for? I mean, I'm no Orlando fan, but I looked at the replay multiple times and didn't see anything. Ref also made some other garbage calls.

Rapids beat Portland - we are guaranteed at least second in the East and if we somehow, make it to the final, we host.

Yeah Nani's card was terrible, couldn't believe that got called.
Also the hand ball call and then ref went and reviewed and called it no hand ball against Portland in their game was pretty bad

Let's go win this game on Sunday!

This is one of the worst calls I have ever seen. Anything someone imaginatively wanted to deem a offence here it is at best a borderline yellow. I’m not even sure if it’s a foul.

The front foot clearly wins the ball and isn’t high, he doesn’t lunge in. You could argue the back foot goes in as well and it’s a foul for a two footed challenge. But his attempt to stick in his second foot seems so half-assed at best and half caused by his momentum... I just don’t see anything in this

Foot on ankle seems to be the call there but I'm not even sure that happened.

I was just going to ask if anyone has heard anything about him. How likely is he to play in it? last 10-15 mins? fitness won't be there, hasn't touched a ball..i'd almost rather wait and have him just be ready for playoffs than risk it. However, supporters shield is on the line..so maybe they check what's happening at half-time and throw him in?

This is a tough call. A healthy Jozy significantly improves our attack however he probably lacks fitness and you don't want to risk injury. Having said that if the Shield is on the line then I bring him on in the 2nd half. The Shield is a major trophy.

No way Jozy starts. But a 20 minute cameo if the Shield is still in play could very well happen. If Philly is up 3-0 at the half though there should be no way Jozy touches the field until the playoffs.

But will the team be scoreboard watching, as the games are all at the same time? Some teams totally avoid that.

absolutely they'll be scoreboard watching if they're in contention - they'd be foolish not to...it's a trophy - silverware - you've got to go for it and home pitch to boot...

Maybe Vanney will throw in Jozy for 10-20 minutes even if we are big time down.
The reason? After any longer time-out needing injury, Jozy historically is severely out of shape, and needs at least 3 games to play (starter or coming from the bench) to be fully fit for the 4th game.
So maybe he'll be almost 100% fit in our 3rd playoff game (if we reach that) if playing in this one?

Luckily TFC won't play again until the 24th. That gives Jozy a full two weeks of training to get himself back into semi-game shape.
