Its better to be lucky than good. Although there wasn't much good tonight from either side.

Really hard to tell what goes on behind closed doors but at face value we parachuted in two guys who, in my estimation, look absolutely culture shocked in addition to everything else.

I’ll take this win all day long. Maybe Tinnerholm and Castellanos can roll around and complain some more while they point at the scoreboard.

Gallardo has not been too bad in my mind - yes, he did a Delgado, but he's been getting wide and winning headers and putting himself about and his passing is decent. I'll take him as a regular sub on that side. Nelson is naive but for 17, he knows where the spaces are really well.

Not a good game but they all count the same. Bono made some big saves and Poz with another successful pk. They looked disjointed tonight and they need to improve.

I shouldn’t, but I did love it when Jozy brutally kicked Tinderhoom in the first half and got the yellow. That one hurt. And you could see Jozybsaying “yea, thats a foul” given two minutes earlier he was called when T was rolling sound untouched

Johnson didn't dive on the PK. Maybe he thought another Panenka was coming.

I know NYC controlled large parts of the game, but they hack and press and mostly get away with it, hard to build up something against that. Plus if NYC had only missed a couple of chances I would say TFC was lucky. But if you look at the whole game, so many chances, you have to say NYC's finishing sucks, and Bono played well, who knows if NYC would ever have scored.

Ager was inches from having like 5 goals in the 11 games he played for us. It's weird how the world works.

Shitty game to watch. Good for Bono, though.
Altidore seems really lost without Bradley's leadership.

So someone tell me I’ve never understood what Bono did wrong ? A guy who was the winning keeper in TFC ‘S MLS Cup 2017 winning season, Supporters Shield 2017 winning keeper, a penalty shootout defeat away from being the winning Champions League winning keeper. Oh I know he was the keeper in 2018 when TFC shit the bed in the regular season . They shit the bed with while playing a TFC 2 lineup for many games , they shit the bed because they had nothing left in the tank after a short off season and gong to the Champions League final . But let’s blame Bono and get him a replacement in Westburg . I’ve never seen a winning keeper that almost won everything relegated to the bench, for what reason? There was no need for Westburg no need at all when you already have a capable keeper in Bono!

This was the first TFC win against someone not named Vancouver or Montreal since March, which incidentally was against NYC.

He can’t distribute the ball. Too important in today’s game to overlook.

He played well tonight, I’ll certainly give him that. His shot stopping has always been good, just a loss of confidence that did him in a little while ago.

I thought he was excellent. But his distribution is still poor. Better keeper than Q but far worse soccer player. He’d be starting for Crystal Palace or Burnley. But not for City. Vanney wants City.

We wil see. We were very disorganized tonight - Richie was all over the place for example - but it will be a new game. Don’t count us out. Maybe we see the Shaff
