Plus Laryea can be a wide midfielder, Gallardo exists, and we have two young Canadians who have earned minutes with good play in Florida.
'Gallardo exists' is the nicest thing anyone can say about him right now.

TFC should have a list of DP players at the ready since we have been looking for DP's each of the last two years. The big question would be if they would use the new 'young DP' slot in Altidore's spot or if they would go all out and sign a bigger name to win MLS Cup this year. But, this is probably a conversation for the transfer thread.

I say Altidore starts on the bench tonight and plays 25ish minutes.

Ayo starts, Jozy comes on? Putting them out there together, they are too similar type players in my mind.

If I had to guess I would say Ayo goes 60-70 minutes (if back to nearly full fitness) and Jozy to walk around for 25 minutes or so.

Lol yes exactly this. Let's hope Ayo doesn't hurt himself.

I actually went back and watched some Youtube highlights of Gallardo from his time in Venezuela yesterday. I think there's still something there. His dribbling left a lot to be desired, but there's still something to like in his speed and ability to put in a cross or a good shot. I still have hope, but I think it would be great for him to get run with the team's stars at some point.

Akinola ain't starting - Vanney never starts anybody coming just back from injury. I'd be very surprised if its not Jozy starting.

    *********

On another note, Jozy is never remembered until he is back & then everybody loves him. Happens every single time - too often of course.

But people forget how good he actually is.

It pains me a bit to say this, but I agree. I will never forget the big moments he had with us. He is also made of glass and ain't getting any younger. We should be able to pick up someone that can contribute in a significant way for years to come.

Piette is back, so I doubt Vanney weakens the midfield.

Strongest lineup available - trying to remember when we last had our best 11 on the pitch.

Would be nice to get a 3-0 lead and let Nelson and Okello get some minutes.

This game just feels like it is the championship match decider.

Montreal is going to give its all, with its best available lineup, playing the way Henri wants them to play

    Against our best lineup

    Playoff vibes

Jozy is looking real swole. He definitely hasn't been missing arm day on his off days.

Man, I’ve been defending Jozy for years now. But his work rate is total shit now.

I wonder if he is carrying around too much muscle mass now.

That’s always been a criticism. He actually slim down a Couple of seasons Ago after his long history of muscle injuries, but he’s right back up to brick wall status. I think thereks something to that. He’s never stuck me as good at managing it.

Less criticism and more of an observation. Piatti played most of his career as a LW, gallardo is a natural RW. We have shaff and endoh as subs... or endoh and gallardo back up. Use Osorio, Delgado and Bradley as midfielders. Oso looks out of place as a LM but looked stellar when Michael Bradley was out earlier in the year. Thoughts
