Default How Many Points for TFC in 2020?

I missed doing this last year, but here are the links to the previous two year's polls:
    http://forums.redpatchboys.ca/showth...ht=2019+points
    http://forums.redpatchboys.ca/showth...ghlight=points

I'm really not sure what to make of this team. We haven't seen much preseason footage and it seems TFC is going into the season with a solidified backline and an uncertain attack. TFC *should* be a top 3 club in the conference, but I could see it all going south depending on injuries and Murphy's Law. Post here what you think will be the final points total heading into the playoffs.

Such a crazy swing in predictions, 2018 coming off the championship the lowest vote was one person saying it would be a playoff team. Then after not making playoffs, the predictions for last year changed quite a bit. Now after making the finals last year it will be interesting to see where the vote results will end up. I'm guessing similar to last year with the comments mentioned above

I voted 51-54. I think at our best we'll be better than last year, but we're going to have too many injuries to key players to pick up enough points over the course of the season to break into a top 2 seed.

    65.

I think that load management will help us avoid too many (more) injuries, and we still have the core of last year's team, which was humming at the end of the year. I expect a contribution from Piatti, and for Liam to fill in for Bradley until he is back. I do think some of the doom and gloom on the boards is a bit much...though if you look at the MLS standings today, https://www.mlssoccer.com/standings, we are last in the East :-o

Not sure if that is enough for the Shield, but should be close to number 1 in the East. I am looking forward to some more home playoff games this year!

I think we end up as an elite team in the league finishing second or third in the east with 55-58 points. We have the core of our team still intact, Jozy is fit, and Fraser is a more than capable deputy to Bradley.

Thankfully it's been years since a sub 30 performance was a realistic probability.

I say we should be in the 55-58 range, possibly the 51-54 range but I feel the east is weak this season and we can take points there.

    1) Atlanta
    2) TFC
    3) NYCFC
    4) Columbus
    5) New England
    6) DC United
    7) Miami
    8) Orlando
    9) Red Bulls
    10) Tic Tac
    11) Philly
    12) Chicago
    13) Cincinnati

TFC finishes with anywhere from 59-62 points. Any major injury to Altidore, and this number drops a bit.

I voted 55-58 because I think Jozy and Pozuelo as a duo will be lethal. Which would unlock Oso and others.

If Jozy goes down for an extended period, 46 points. If Pozo, 42 points. If both, 36 points.

Add 5 points to all of the above if Bradley comes back in the second half and is his old self. (I am not assuming that.)

Oh no, I'm changing my prediction: 31-36 Points -- Cellar Dwellers.

Now that this crazy season is over, I thought I'd bring up the poll. Who would have thought COVID would have such an effect on the season?

Only one person guessed that TFC would end up with around 44 points for the season. However, if you multiply their 1.91 PPG by a regular 34-game season, you can extrapolate that TFC's end of season record would be 64 points, putting them in the Supporters Shield Winners category (which was close to what actually ended up happening).

Congrats to all who participated and I sure hope next season will be less crazy.
