Trade him just for this silly tweet

Pretty sure Delgado means it is the final year for his contract. Mavinga and him must be close.

No indication that this is anything other than just missing one day of training. Steve Buffery didn't say Jozy is "out," he said Jozy is "not training with the team today."

Honestly, don't make this out to be more serious than it is to fit a "Jozy is made of glass so let's get rid of him" narrative.

Not that I think this is a secret goodbye, but I’ve been saying for 2 years now that we should looking for his replacement. He is worth a lot via trade, and as much as I love his ball winning (which is very underrated in the forum), his on the ball decision making, and his shot are below par.

Right now our DP winger is more important I agree, and we still need a backup LB, but this has been on my list of things TFC could find an upgrade on for a couple of years now.

This has been a verify disappointing off season in a numbers of cases.

And these are just some needs and to realize we overachieved last year with a little luck as well. Don't get me wrong the heart and grit was there but playing Poz out of position hurt a bit. If we start him CAM instead of RM or LM will get way more production out of him.

    1. We need more depth at Striker or even go back to starting two up top would of been ideal.
    2. More depth on the wing with a DP signing or a DP striker to me would be better and or trade within the league for a winger.
    3. More depth at CB period.
    4. Back up LB or feature starting LB morrow come up in age.

Alot of the pick ups we did in De Leon, layrea worked out but will it continue into this season we will see.

Westberg re-signed. Good. Can we move Bono now? His contract is dead weight.

The Sounders just signed a 28 year old DP so we can assume the u23 rule won't be happening. Pitter patter let's get at er Ali!

Sshhhh, you're disturbing the "everything is fine" crowd!

CB hasn't been talked about much. Drew Moor is gone; certainly somebody that was in our plans at the start of the previous seasons. Omar came, that's great, but Mavinga is likely to be out injured at some point (as has usually been the case with him). God forbid Omar picks up a knock or needs a break around the same time. I thought Ciman really improved towards the end of last season after some weak play earlier in the year; let's see how he looks this year but it's not a sure bet. What are their plans for Zavaleta? Will Dunn or Romeo actually be able to contribute? If not, it seems Moor and Zavaleta should be gone, and we need one more Ciman-level CB.

The question is who do you buy out?

Bono at $380k or Cousin Zavs at $300k?

Both players are going to be hard to move in any other fashion.

Well there goes that theory... Sounders just got better, they are talking of bringing in a TAM CB as well.

I wonder if he’s still on some minimal contract.. probably eager to get paid for all his hard work.

$250K, hope he has a banner year like Oso in 2017. I'm a fan, but also hope we don't re-sign him to $750K

Bono is a good 'keeper that could start for about half of MLS teams. No reason to move him unless he wants to go.

Zavaletta is a marginal MLS player who is taking up a space that could be used for a young up-and-coming player.

The problem is the keeper position is morphing more into a role that focuses on the skills Bono clearly doesn’t have.

I’d ring the register if there are any takers. Come on Cinci, I know you want an inflated contract in return for giving TFC allocation money.

This is so true. Sadly in the modern game, a keeper who can't kick properly isn't going to get many minutes, no matter how good a shot stopper he is. Bono needs an awful lot of development if he's going to make it.

He's a backup taking up almost 400k our of budget space. Is that not plenty of reason to move him?

But we won't know what percentage of that budget space he takes up until after the CBA is agreed to.

Bono is young for a keeper and likely to be a decent player IF he can learn to distribute the ball and marshal the back line - he has yet to show an aptitude for that. He is very much a product of the US college system - athletic, great at stopping shots but totally lacking in the nuances of the game as played now.

My take? Is there a younger product coming up through the academy that in 4 years will be starting when Q starts to age out? If so, then Bono might be worth moving on. Otherwise, we wait for that academy kid.

For one of the highest paid players in the league we are not getting close to fair value on this player, sell him to china

we should have found a way to get Cavalini at 1/4 the cost and bring in another electric DP using Jozy's 6 million. Gurantee Cavalini gets more goals then Jozy
