We pay that man what he wants. He went to to but fuck Idaho and won them titles. He came here and won us titles mls cup and supporters shield. He is a winner not whiner. He is worth every penny. And better then anything we can put on the pitch now. And please don’t go off about Fraser and shaft. They showed against Huston last year Just where they stand in the mls. NOT READY! Bring back Sebba PLEASE! You will see BMO full every game and get to watch 3 playoff games at home next year and a MLS cup.

This player is worth following but not re-signing. Most outside this thread have moved on. Most have shifted Italian thoughts to Balotelli.

Could we even do that? We just had to cut Benezet because his TAM is going to Bradley.

Oh no... not the DeRo thread. I think some people still have PTSD from that. This thread couldn't reach those heights even if we tried.

That's a whopper of a gamble. In a perfect world we could afford him, we would have a place in the team for him, he would come back as the Seba from 2017... And that little part of him wanting to come back, too.

Can we look forward and not to the past?

We all love Seba. We all loved what he contributed. But I'm tired of this revisionist history that he single handedly won us everything in 2017 that you and johnny come lately are frothing at the mouth about. Enough already.

Was he massive? No doubt. But others were just as massive. Saying we won it as a team would be an understatement.

So we can maybe speculate that he would've come back for DP money, but isn't willing to be TAM.

His asking range was higher than what we pay Poz. TAM was never in play.

Not sure how many Serie A teams need Seba enough to pay him DP-type money. By my count, 3-4. Saputo might tempt him to Bologna with a chance at returning to MLS with the Limp Act down the road. (That would suck.)

If Seba goes back to Italy, it won't be for DP money. We paid a hefty premium to bring him over here, and let's be honest, he's no spring chicken anymore.

I think we need to get used to the idea of Seba in MLS but maybe not here. If not for us, I see Seba playing for one of the NY teams. I think that is what makes most sense for the league and for him.

Unless you are French Canadian, ie Chris Boucher or Russell Martin, no TO sports star is going to work in Montreal. Also I can’t see Henry wanting/needing a high maintenance 33 year old in the room. Seba is a finishing piece for a contender.

Ciman commutes from Montreal and Seba could commute between TO and NY.

The NY teams general failure to recruit from Serie A (Pirlo was a weird exception, he was practically in a wheelchair) is baffling. There are something like 2M Italian Americans in NY area, it's the third biggest Italian City in the world. Those teams' execs need to watch the Cosmos movie about Chinaglia.

I personally would bring him back as a DP for 2 years on $3 or 4M, but I do see this as a very tough call.

Personally extremely surprised that not a single MLS club other than us has been rumored for Seba. He'd make such a difference at so many clubs.

His family still lives here. He's been back multiple times. Nothing to see in my opinion.

Giovinco has decided to return to Italy and Serie A after his current contract finishes. This ends any dream of him wearing TFC red again.

Giovinco will be 40 and there will still be a couple random people on Twitter who will state that they won't watch another TFC game until Seba returns.
