Tell us how you really feel, lol.

Looking forward to having our new wingers on the field. Shaffelburg as extra ammo is a bonus. Have fun contraining that guy as a fresh sub at 60 minutes onward.

    February ‘16, adductor.

He didn’t think he’d be able to play at the same level when he returned either (at the time).

He played next to N’Golo Kante and Caen (4 goals in 12 games).

    ....so there is that....

He said it himself: he's going to go from playing in a commune of 7000 to the 6ix. Obviously the football culture is different hetr but seeing TAM and DP mls players cash in on their time here has to make playing in such a big market pretty appealing to a guy who was about to be relegated into nothingness.

    WELCOME NICOLAS BENEZET

Tam winger finally has a name. This our move... happy to have more depth and maybe quality.

I kind of like that its just a loan, I think his contract is up next summer so the option to buy shouldn’t be too much if it works out. Let him teach the Shaff a thing or two and if he doesn’t perform next season Telfer is definitely ready to step in and at least be a good backup winger.

Shaff is the man and if he can't do it know body can. I want this kid starting day in, day out. Really impressed with what he brings to the table. Plus he is just an outright down to earth nice kid with a good family behind him.

No I believe these guys were Plan B.

Plan A was most likely 1 of Jonathan Menendez or Lucas Janson(tam) and then maybe someone else (non tam). But both jony and janson were too expensive.

Plan B ended up being 2 less expensive TAM players.

Looking at his highlights, he looks more like a second striker than a winger. Looks good from set pieces......don't think he is the kind of player we need, but we shall wait and see.

it is curious when you think of the excuse used at the time... like, a tiny bit of money wouldn't have helped?

His preferred position is 10, but he has played as second striker, different midfield roles of the attacking kind, and as a winger.

Unless I'm missing something, none of the major news media reports regarding Benezet specify that this is a loan. I think this is a direct signing/transfer, though I could be wrong.

    Welcome to Toronto, Nicolas!

KJ said it was a loan. That's it.

That is quite likely. Also could have been plan C

This is worrying for me. We need true out and out wingers, guys who like to be on the sidelines taking guys on 1v1...he does look like he's that - but we shall see.

Hard to tell where he is supposed to play. Could be anywhere from midfield to on the forward line.

No issue with this signing specifically but I find our continued recruitment of diminutive but skilled mids / forwards a bit troubling. We saw last year what happens when this team doesn’t have enough power or pace in it.

That was said before Hamilton for Mullins so that was probably it.

This guy sounds like a replacement for Seba. Not at the same level obviously

Looks like Benezet is a 6 month loan with an option to purchase for 500,000 euro.

Regardless of where he's best suited, surely he's been brought in to primarily play LW. If he's good enough to give Poz a breather, great. If he can potentially play with Poz to give Jozy a breather, great. Attacking versatility is important to have, but I would be surprised if our first impression isn't of him as a winger.

Just finished watching a bunch of highlights of him. He can score with both feet and has quite a few goals from headers, surprisingly. His small size and movement and ability to score is reminiscent of Seba.
He looks to be a winger/second forward and has played anywhere in the attacking 3rd.

Not a replacement for Giovinco as his role is nonexistant in our current set up. In a single striker set up a player like Giovinco, as he played while he was here, has no place.

Seems like a low risk high reward type of acquisition that could bolster our attack. He has the rest of the season (and hopefully the playoffs) to audition for a more permanent role on the club.
