Beita offers two things, consistency and reliability. He’s not great going forward and he was at an age where most players slow down.
He’s like a Toyota, reliable, consistent but a tad boring. You could have an exciting car, but what good is it when you’re on the side of the road?
Went down the Instagram rabbit hole of where Cheyrou is at. There’s a guy I’d give a crack as manager even without the experience.
I read somewhere after the match last night that TFC interested in Danny Simpson?
I wonder what would cause Mavinga to say this (on the last day of the Euro window)?

"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Could be personal rather than business wise. Highly doubt we'd shift him atm wouldn't make sense.
Mavinga & Gonzalez will be our pairing for the next couple of years at least, regardless of whether we have a new coach next season or not. His tweets are enigmatic.
As against Benezet who tweeted out a recording of his loudly snoring roomate at 4 am Sunday morning - I like that guy.
Tweeting about despair at the end of the window, that's not all that enigmatic.
I am guessing Mavinga has asked out or wants to go home, but TFC isn't interested or didn’t get the offer they want.
I mean, it could mean something else, of course it could.... but that’s the way to bet it. The “enigmatic” tweet pattern, I think that's been about his desire to leave.

The fact that it's near the end of the window could be coincidence, there's nothing in his tweets indicating a desire to return home. Plus TFC is not noted for forcing reluctant players to play out their contract.
The comments on his tweet are treating it like common discouragement.
It could easily be discouragement over TFC's leaky defence. I'd be tempted to despair if I was in the backline, with good reason.

Then again....maybe Mavinga was Benezet's roommate.
To save everyone a search
Translation: 4 o'clock my roommate snores like a lion impossible to sleep

Messi "considering" MLS move. Probably just an attempt to leverage a big payday from Barcelona. Still, if he came, Toronto would have to be in the running.

It's okay we already had the guy who was better than Messi*, Victor Vasquez
*in youth academy
I read the comments about Mavinga above and also have seen his twitter timeline .. something doesn't sit well with me when it comes to Mavinga and either he and his wife are extremely home-sick or something has shifted his attitude about playing in Toronto. He doesn't seem the happy guy he was when he first came .. his tweets hint of someone who is depressed or who is having personal issues in life or with his employer ..
I was under the impression that he wasn't injured in his car accident but has been curiously absent of late … the following tweet and reply seem to confirm his mood and sombre tone have nothing to do with the car accident.
This one … "It's not always easy to pretend"

Then this one just a few days ago .. with those cryptic emojis … arrow soon perhaps equals leaving soon?

And this gem at the start of the month … Translation: "Sometimes you are so disappointed at an unimaginable point that you just do not want to make any effort for anyone" I mean wtf!

If I had to lay money down I would say he plays out his contract and then he and the team part ways … he's been a little too dramatic since getting close to van der weil and maybe some of the latter's attitude and work ethic rubbed off on Mavinga
Something is clearly off though .. we will see if he makes the squad tonight in NY.

I love Mavinga on the field but does he ever need a social media manager. These messages are embarrassing for a 15 year old; never mind a professional athlete. This kind of stuff makes me respect Bradley so much.
Yeah Mavinga is gone at year end. That one tweet on the day after the Euro window closed, the last one in that long post above from Sep 2, he was putting it out there in neon.
I mean, this went way beyond “he is a weird social media guy” a while back. He is stirring it up to get out. It always works.
