COYR's did an interview with OG. He stated that the first time the idea of coming to Toronto came up was when he was in the January camp with Bradley. Bradley spent a lot of time convincing him to come to TO. Seems to me this is a Bradley signing!

Does this give any indication of what Bradley’s plans are? Why would he convince anyone to come here if he had
any notion of leaving anytime soon.

Depends if it was before or after Seba and Vazquez left.

Anyone follow LigaNOS closely enough to know if Coentrão would still be worth a punt? His contract with Rio Ave is up at the end of the month.

Does he still get called up for Portugal? If not, when was his last cap?
Also, doesnt he play on the left side?

Please discuss Seba rumours in the Seba thread. This thread is now Seba-free.

    Bradley transfer talk from Mexico:

Transfer Liga MX.@TransferLigaMX 6h6 hours ago

FC Juarez is negotiating with Michael Bradley (, 31 years old) current captain of his national team and Toronto FC; negotiations are on track and his salary would be Top 5 in the Liga MX. For now, only team in Mexico that negotiates with Bradley.

That would be ~$4m a year. He'd be on a free transfer as well. If it's true it's hard for him to be a TAM player here when he can move his family to LA and they can be close to his old man as well. Win Win

If Bradley signs on a free let him go in this summer window so they can see what Fraser can do and sign a winger with DP money.

Could sign a DP anyway with the Zlatan type half season deal.

They will probably pay TFC to have him go early.

This team will be rebuilt as a Curtis team, whether for better or for worse.

Letting Bradley go is key for us moving forward. We need to change our approach and it won't change with him in midfield.

I know damn well that the Bradley and Seba rumors are fake but I can't help but think about what Jozy-Seba upfront would look like with Pozuelo.

    With no wide outlet?

It would be like watching Timbits soccer.

Well I’m not so sure about Timbits but it would be the same style we used a few years back which saw the majority of our attacking play come through the middle.

I think you’re right, we need some sort of tweak (assume that is what you’re getting at). Teams need to take us more seriously out wide to give Jozy and company the room they need to operate.

We still got that TAM money. I presume OG took the other one.

He is not as fast as he once was that's for sure. This year, was a major step off for him compared to his previous year and even then, when he was at Sporting, he was a shell of what he once was.

I also don't think he'd fit in well with a 3 man defensive system based on his lack of speed to track back and the fact he was never really strong in defense (played more of an attacking wingback while at Sporting).

Yeah, was thinking he might fit on the left side of the 4-2-3-1 in the 3.

FO: We need a speedy forward.
Curtis: How about USMNT international Boyd?
    FO: Where does he play?
    Curtis: In Europe.
    FO: Can he score?
Curtis: Long history of it. Many goals.
    FO: Okay.

FO: Yes, our man Boyd just bagged two in a gold cup game! This guy looks great! Why is Vanney using him so sparingly?
    Curtis: ...
FO: We did sign a young USMNT international named T. Boyd, right?
    Curtis: Yes.

Wonder if TFC made this bid:

According to reports from Uruguay, an unnamed #MLS team has had a bid accepted for 23-year-old Uruguayan attacker Federico Martinez, but terms with the player haven’t been agreed. Martinez plays for Liverpool in Uruguay, and is their 2nd leading goal scorer this year.

Shaffelburg is now on the first team. Hopefully he gets to play at least with TFC2 if he is warming the bench up on the first team.

Jacob has great speed up the wing, have been really impressed with his playing, havering attended a few TFCII games this season. Nice to see. Would not be surprised to see him in action soon with all the guys away for the Gold Cup. Not sure about tomorrow as he started for TFCII last last but you have to believe next Wednesday against Atlanta is in the cards.

He's now a homegrown & has played 12 times with TFCII.

He's left wing speed depth - hopefully never seen as a LB.

    At only 19, he's a signing for 2022.

Why not now, if he's ready? Look how many young players are having big impacts in their teams this year ... we shouldn't automatically preclude using Shaffleburg just because he's young.

He'll be at his best by 2022. My feeling is the TAM LW/LA signing last 2.5 seasons - Shaffelburg starts then. Until then, he's off the bench impact.

He'll get used now but the team is slowly putting together a good squad for periods of the future. Unlike what we've seen before when it was now or 2017/2018, the brain trust is thinking about more then just now.

But again, you seem to be making that decision not based on his quality, but on his age. I'm not saying you're wrong, only that I'm not sure if you're doing the full due diligence here.

Have you seen him play much? I admittedly haven't, but if he is good enough we shouldn't be afraid to use him.
