    Default 2019 general TFC/MLS banter

This thread is a catch-all for general banter not specifically related to transfer rumours.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

I said it a few days ago and it reflects the winter of a TFC fanatic. I said to my wife, y'know come New Year's Day I get to say I am going to a TFC game next month...

I'm so glad I've padded out January with Raptors games to fill the void. February can't come soon enough. Nothing beats watching TFC play at the BMO Field.

This tweet pretty much tells the story with Ciman - happy to be back in Canada, likely going to live in Montreal.

Really glad to read that. (Given the snow on the date, it likely is Montréal). They look very happy! It's a pretty reasonable commute whenever he has a few days off either by VIA rail (business class is quite nice) or by plane.

Having been the parent of an autistic child (now adult) I know how important having the proper supports are. Welcome to TFC, Ciman.

^ MdS is pretty straight shooting, speaking from watching him here in Ottawa. He'll have them performing at a good level by next year, assuming ownership gets him the players he needs.

I admire MDS for being that bold. I think he’s more than capable but will he get the support he needs from further up the pyramid?

Almost sounds like the initial plan was to blow apart the cliques in the locker room and after that a number of guys put in for transfers.

I’m not sure what they are going to sell season ticket holders on this year. Looks dire.

Well, they could always post pictures of "crazy" fake fans with torn jerseys, like TFC did in the dire days.

Looking at the names of who they’ve dumped in the off season it’s no surprise they’ve been mediocre for a while. Some of the most annoying players in the league, with pretty poor production.

This takes the cake. We managed to embarrass ourselves and the whole league in one swoop. And even if any of that didn’t happen it was still a dumb idea. Compared to this, token white girls talking with an inflex was pure genius.

Seems like a home game friendly schedule in the early months and then ends with a road heavy schedule for Aug-Sept-October. September in particular- TFC home to Colorado on the 15th, on the road 7th Cinci, 11th NYCFC, 21st LAFC, 29th Fire.

Then at home October 6th for the final game, vs the Crew for the rights to the very first Bezbatchenko Cup.

Not a fan of 5 of our last 7 on the road, was also hoping Cinci would be during the summer

September 7th can still be summerish in weather terms.
September 11th in NYC seems somehow not right though...

That was the low. Making a world class player pretend to be a lonely weird loser.
