At one point a three foot long gash six inches deep came up forcing a City player to attempt temporary repairs while the game went on. It’s only a matter of time before a player gets seriously hurt on that Frankenstein park. And that’s before we get into the narrowness of the field that turns the game into pinball soccer. The league would never put up with it if it was in any other city (save maybe LA) It’s time MLS took action and set NYCFC a deadline to move to a proper grass field designed for soccer or boot them out the league. It’s not that NYCFC can’t afford it since they part of a global football corporation that owns three clubs including the English Champions. It’s time the put up or got out. MLS are allowing them to make a mockery of the game playing on that abomination of a pitch. I won’t say NYCFC gain an advantage playing there (no team could on that piece of shit) but at least they are familiar with it and it’s pitfalls which does give them somewhat of an edge
MLS will give them forever, because they don’t want another “New York” Red Bulls.

It’s not as easy as throwing money at the problem, and NYC is the biggest blemish on Garber’s time as commissioner.

Look at Beckham’s group in Miami, which should be a trivial market to operate in compared to NYC.
