    i think this is incorrect, I am 99% sure they qualified when they won the shield.

    this is old info for the 2019 competition. Due to the reset CONCACAF did the MLS births are:
    2017 and 2018 MLS cup and US open cup champions (Since we won MLS cup 2017, this birth is given to the club with the best aggregate records over the 17-18 MLS seasons — Atlanta United)

    FWIW, the MLS champ will be in the opposite pool of the draw from us - i.e. we could be drawn against them in the CCL 1st round.
