Spoke to Toronto FC GM, Ali Curtis. Interview to follow online. He has confirmed to me that contract offers have been extended to Michael Bradley & Jozy Altidore and that he was very disappointed in Giovinco’s instagram post. It was a strong response. Video to follow. #TFCLive
that are not intentionally torching the place, but they are intentionally cutting the budget. I am very surprised that they didn't exercise the option. (edit: I see others made this point) Part of the cost cutting, obviously. Not surprised they didn't sign a long contract with Seba - cannot do that - but paying for stability versus chaos has merit

Quick note on Sofiane, buddy is a Dynamo supporter, said he's solid, new coach at Spartak and is redoing the team without him hin the plans
I edited my post after to add that ex LAFC and Sounders reserve GK played the second half in net for the Reds. I was really hoping they would have brought in a vet to battle it out with CPS for the backup spot. The third is pretty much going to be a kid toiling for the most part this season with TFCII in USL League 1 ala D3.

So who is the favourite for the third GK spot?

When Seba says he would have taken less, it seems fairly obvious to me that he means less than he got from Saudi.
Seba's bottom line was pretty clearly the $7M a year he was currently on.
Manning handled this fine by me EXCEPT that this all should have happened in November.
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
extending it one more year without a new deal would have had us see the continuation of contract whining from Giovinco.
This really is the best choice for the locker room and they got 2-3 mill vs zero out of it
No doubt Giovinco wanted to do his best but you still need to be on the same page as your team and FO
I agree that his agent gave him some bad advice.
I am working with my one boss today who is Egyptian and watches football at work all day. He follows all the Arab leagues and he knew about this deal. He was saying that Al-Hillal is the biggest, richest club in Saudi but have no identity and are firing coaches left and right. Considering that league is shit to begin with, it doesn't sound like going somewhere to win.

Does anyone know if this is the Jesus West who started for the Reds yesterday ? It's the only info I found.

Well so far Manning and Curtis have been shockingly silent until today but they haven't been caught lying. Yet.
Giovinco & D'Amico have.
So for now, that's something to consider.

In case there was any doubt... Toronto plan to go big to replace Giovinco and Vazquez. Told club is aiming to sign a younger attacker as a DP in next couple weeks. If signed, the fee will likely be among the highest in MLS history. Targeting 1-2 TAM signings this window, as well.
Now we wait for a leak from abroad...
