The guy wants to win? How about we stick him on TFC2 and let him rot there for the year. What a wanker.

I suspect vdW has violated the standard clause in all sports contracts around conduct.

Publicly telling Vanney he will be fired could all by itself be grounds for termination of his contract. No buyout, no nothing.

He may well have done it on purpose

I don’t think this will hurt us much financially in the end

Hagglund left cuz he was desired by a team in his home city, we got quite a bit for him. As for Zavaleta he's on high wages not sure anyone is fighting for him. If he goes we might be covering some of his wages.

I would have to agree but, removing what may have been the worst one may send the message through the rest of the roster.

Just curious as to whom you have in mind? It is obvious you have suspicions.

There is not a lot of time to get this straightened out, there may be more moves out (at a minimum the possible summer departures of Seba/Jozy loom) and there will be a bunch of new faces soon...
Crazy stuff. Hopefully they don't hit the full on panic button and make last minute bad deals like TFC of old to replace any of the sudden departures.

Don't see it. Curtis hasn't shown to be that type.

I thought he was back in favour? Came off the bench and scored for them in the league last weekend.

He is back in favor for now. Babel was sold, and Vagner love has been suspended by the club.

Larin is best as a 1 man forward line. Maybe bring him back next year if we lose both Seba & Jozy.

Lets see if he grows up a bit in Turkey.

If we bring in Larin I want to see a playmaker out wide up top. Similar to someone like Yordy Reyna in Vancouver, tons of place, can score, and create the play. Seems like a logical third part after Larin and Seba (if Jozy is indeed off).

We need to add some pieces and quickly too. Doesn’t matter who was to blame on the VDW incident. He’s a fantastic player and going to be a big loss at the back for us.

I think you can push Seba wide in a 4-3-3 if you bring in Larin. Also, it’s a natural rotation for sometimes Seba to start, sometimes Larin to start, depending on the opponent.

That said, if you transfer Altidore and bring in Larin you are losing a fair amount of quality. I expect a playmaker of some sorts, perhaps longer term, but still.

Hope this does not become an issue within the locker room, its obvious Chris is a good friend. I really hope Greg did not overact here, but who really knows beyond them.

I'm pretty sure Ciman & Mavinga would not let this affect them - they have both been treated much much worse by other teams. But, if it did, that's on them, not management.

Off the allocation list I think it's either Cubo (can be had for base TAM salary and prob marginal transfer) or Najar (would be expensive transfer tho).

You never know. We all have friends we can relate to at certain levels but still realize are irrational or flawed in other respects.

ensco Wild ass guess unified field theory here:

I think the treatment of Jozy and Seba may be causing a rift, and guys with options are using them. Further wild ass guess: the players and their agents were mostly talking to Bez, and now Manning/Curtis are saying something different, and all hell is breaking loose.

Say what you want about vdW the player, he has been around too long to just pop off at coaches in public like that. That sounds calculated to me.

All these Euro based teammates tweeting happy friendly thoughts... they will be vdW's quiet references when some Sheik asks “what happened in Toronto” and vdW says, the team was mistreating veteran stars, just hanging them out there, nobody does that, it's not right... so a couple of us asked for our release but they said no, but then they gave the release to the other guy, so I said enough is enough and took matters into my own hands....

vdW will be signed somewhere within a week. He really should go to Qatar or similar, will make more dough, people know his name. When I said I didn’t believe that VV could get a massive pay check there, this is who I cited as a guy who could. Started a WC final. All those years at PSG. vdW can shake the middle eastern money tree for sure.

He should have never come here in the first place. He didn’t do his homework, he thought it was a higher caliber of football than it was. (That's my guess as to why he went after Vanney, he thinks the football is crap here, that was maybe heartfelt.) In the end it was a good place for his wife to have a baby. But once that's behind you, if it's just about the pay check, well, the VV move hit him hard. May as well do the same and bolt for the max dough.

I could be wrong. All speculation on my part.

So basically, although you have a list of prior infractions and press clippings tar-and-feathering you a mile long, why not decide it’s wise to again throw your name into the mixer because the stars above you could be on the way out? Sounds like a formula to go from being a successful footballer to working at Denny’s.

Going to this team was this guy’s chance to put a stop to the downfall in his career. He’s on thin ice here a mile out to sea in late springtime. Doubt jumping up-and-down is a winning strategy.
