The Gulf States clubs are splashing cash around (like Chinese clubs did until they stopped doing that) and TFC got noticed last season, so I guess it isn't a surprise this is happening (if it is). I don't think the FO is shopping S.G. but if they were already inclined to dial back the wage spend, then they aren't going to fight off an offer like this. I agree that it is bit surprising that Garbs hasn't piped up about this, that has certainly happened in the past when marquee players were rumored to be moving out.
i cant see seba the family man bringing his family to SA...i think its agent bullshit trying to get more money here.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
Didn't most people on here say that if in fact we chose not to resign Giovinco or Jozy we should sell them before Jan 31st so it's not a distraction or problem for the year?
Well that's what you're getting so what's the problem?
If you want to have world class players, you have to be a world class management team to deal with the world class agents.
MLS HQ would never, ever allow Giovinco to go on a free, TFC either but the league holds that contract and they understand optics.
So...what's the opposite of roller blades?
I was one who thought we still have a top team if everyone is healthy and plays a whole season. Obviously it’s inevitable that the guys who brought Toronto its first real championship in years will leave eventually. I didn’t see it happening now, and with no obvious plan to keep the level high.
I wouldn't say that ensco is "most people."
If there's deals to be made, they should be making them. Or at least come to an understanding and trust about what the process will be. To have Giovinco talking about this publicly, in a vacuum, for over half a year, is not great -- regardless of what's "normal" in MLS & the rest of the world.
This team is imploding no matter how they will try and spin it. Even if Seba ends up staying for this window the Locker room is lost.
Curtis doesn't have the respect of the players or agents and it's trickling down to Vanney and making it harder for him when the Front office is just fucking around biding its time for something to happen.
I feel like this forum is imploding more than the actual team is 😂
I really don't understand how some folks in this forum are jumping into the conclusion that we're rebuilding. Management have never said that. In fact, if you listen to the 2018 post season conference with Manning, he stated the following on where they want to be as a club:
- contender for multiple championships
- having a winning record
- one of the top teams in MLS
He also stated that TFC will be amongst the highest spending teams in MLS. They have the commitment from ownership.
I'm willing to give Curtis time and see what he does, but I'm not expecting any rebuild.
What the hell is going on?

Lots of chatter today about Giovinco and his future in Toronto. As proven, things can turn quickly, but based on conversations I've had this morning, there doesn't appear to be much truth to transfer rumours right now. Giovinco is with TFC training today. #TFCLive
Road Games:
2013 - Montréal , 2014 - Orlando (Disney Classic), Montréal
2015 - Columbus, New England, Montréal
2016 - NYCFC (Leg 2 Conference Semis), Montréal (Leg 1 Conference Final)
2017 - Ottawa (Leg 1 Canadian Championship Semi), DCU, Red Bulls (Leg 1 Conference Final), Columbus (Leg 2 Conference Final)
2019 - Montréal, NYCFC (Eastern Conference Semi @ Citi Field), Seattle (MLS Cup Final)
Have we reached peak silly season?

Giovinco is a Toronto FC player, tomorrow he will be a Toronto FC player, this season he is a Toronto fc player. Due to a talk I had with a former source he is not leaving Toronto as of now, and is still in California training with the team #TFCLive
This, posted from the guy who has been leading the charge on this news. He just posted 8 min ago.
Giovinco is trending now, supporters are emailing their reps. If it was a ploy, it seems to be working....

Or is he just piggybacking off what Kloke and Molinaro have tweeted after they got briefed.
On to the next transfer outrage. Our entertainments tend toward the perverse.
Well Gio, everyone knows that you want money now. I'm sure his agent is happy about the publicity. Your move Curtis.
