But if they want to rebuild, why would they bring in an older defender?
Man I hate not having direction. These guys don't know what they are doing.
I'm normally pretty level headed, but getting worked over on a minimal transfer fee for a star, selling off your top players and bringing in older ones is the definition of having no direction.
I've said this is a hundred times. Treading water in sports and staying middle of the pack is the worst thing you can do. SELL EVERYONE and GO YOUNG. or GO ALL IN. Never STAY IN THE MIDDLE

Should we all wear our black jerseys for the whole of 2019? A way to mourn the loss of the most influential, entertaining, futbol magician that ever graced BMO field?

This “low” transfer fee thing that is getting traction is false.
32 year olds in the last year of their contract in secondary leagues do not move on big transfers.

I do like Alessandrini but didn't KJ say the player was from a good team?

That's exactly what happened. TFC brass if you are reading (and I know you are) if you don't know who the SUCKER at the table is it's YOU! This seems like bad business to me.Originally Posted by Ultra & Proud;1886068[B
With how much Vanney has spoken about playing with more width, I think we can rule out a narrow diamond. My expectation is that this new player that KJ mentioned (presumably Curtis' DP) will be someone who can play on the left.

It's been an emotional evening, but there are more dominos to fall. The club did just seemingly improve the backup striker position. They're hardly packing it in. Curtis has inherited a very sticky situation; let the man work. Stay positive. ✊ I've been a Seba fan since watching him star for Italy's U-20s but I still understand the reasoning behind the decision.

TFC had to put something out there, they have been taking a PR beating.
The team's reporters have been stenographers on this story. We have learned absolutely everything elsewhere, and the beat reporters have been misled.
I wouldn’t parse the language too carefully. Not saying that means it's Alessandrini.
I worry that it's Hutchison.

this
we had Sebastian Giovinco and he stated that he wanted to remain in Toronto and we let him go - - for what?
Even if they sign a big name i wanted to at the very least say goodbye properly - 5 years from now - this sucks, big time - this actually hurts
MLSE surely doesn't believe in TFC long-term as the ROI doesn't meet their short-term objectives
Obviously this is bigger.
I'm just comparing the relative impact at the time TFC acquired Dero(a star player going to his hometown), and the impact on the organization afterwards with the way he left(cheque signing), which got the whole ball rolling on trying to "right the ship".
As of right now, they've improved the defense and lost two major pieces of the offense this off-season. They have a couple more days to make trades and signings. I don't think we can know what we're working with for another week at least.
I get the feeling that Curtis and Manning are going to set up another Town Hall meeting, just like what Curtis did at NYRB. They owe it to the supporters to explain what they're doing.
Hard to compete with the Arabs when they're offering 10 mil and it's tax free on top of that. He'll make there in a year what otherwise he'd make here in three. I feel sorry for his kids and his wife in particular because it's a drastically different place to live. I spent a week there on a work assignment and was ready to slash my wrists.
Hoping for no forced signings just to appease / save face here. Rather wait.
