You could make a case for Bradley being consistent and filling multiple roles, however there is no question Osorio is the man this year.

I’m really suprised by this. I heard rumours he had teams in Italy possibly chasing him and Giovinco had greased some wheels. Great for TFC. I hope it’s good for him in long run. And just as much for Canada as we enter a new WC cycle.

I should have started my post with congratulations to Jonathan Osorio. He’s earned every bit of his new contract. And more maybe. It can be harder as a Canadian to get the recognition. Well earned!

Congratulations Oso! Very well deserved and I'm glad our most capped player is staying home. I think this may be the death blow for Delgado's time here. With Janson showing well and if Vazquez is healthy, there is not really a starter spot open. I think they may off load him in the off season and use that money for another CB that we desperately need.

I don't think that means he stays, I think TFC will now be sure to get the transfer money if they move him on in a year or two.

Maybe he's concerned about not getting field time if he moves abroad.
    He's a starter who's recognized here - won't be there.

It'll be interesting to see where this winds up. I think the range is $700K (what Dax McCarthy got this year) to $1.35M (what Dwyer got this year).

Other international benchmarks (Osorio is in theory in a different bucket as a homegrown domestic)....Plata got $700K last year. Alejandro Silva and other guys got $700-800K from Montreal this year. Zoltan Steiner got $1M from DCU last year. And Aketxe of course.

I'm guessing $900K for 4 years, or $1M for 3 years. Oso is worth more than McCarthy, younger, with more accomplishments. What's holding Oso back from the higher end is the possibility of mean reversion. Also there is a premium for strikers.
