Default Other MLS Games This Midweek - August 22-23

    TONIGHT

NYRB @ NYCFC 7pm Should be a decent game. Two teams still not sure who they are under their new coach.

    Thursday

Columbus @ Chicago 7pm - Chicago is in freefall. Columbus hanging in there until the playoffs.

    FCD @ Houston 9pm -
Houston has lost 5 in a row while Dallas just keeps rolling along in 1st while everybody else in the West gets the media attention.

I think NYRB have shown a little more, im expecting them to pull out the result here. Imo, they've been the strongest team.

Columbus should easily get the 3 points but as we know, nothing is easy. Go Chicago!

Last one, you would think FCD would get the win but I think Houston will get a draw here

Wow announced attendance in Chicago last night just over 8000 , but watching the highlights maybe about 1000 if that lol, how much longer before Chicago folds or is relocated , still too many teams in this league drawing flies to games, Colorado, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, NY Red Bulls that’s way too many for a league that is supposedy growing .

The things about Chicago is that there is huge support for Soccer there. The stadium is just in an awful location.

If you live in the city, its tough to get to. Is it really worth it for a casual to go through all the trouble to get there?

They need to file for creditor protection and force the Bridgeview’s hand to get out of that lease. However, one wonders whether single entity works as a negative in this case.

They have literally dropped in attendance from day one since they moved from the old soldier field. MLS needs to fix it, they can’t afford to abandon the market.

Getting to Bridgeview is a big pain the ass. I have been there three times and it’s was a frustrating trip each time. Unless you live near the stadium, it would be difficult and time consuming to go there every week. As a stadium, I actually like it and i think it’s a nice place to watch a match.

Big money (Cub's owner) coming in for a USL team & wanting to build a 20K stadium in the city itself.

The lease for the Fire is ironclad and because it's signed by MLS themselves, they are stuck in that spot for another 18 years. Even if MLS folded the team, they couldn't put another MLS team in Chicago without using Bridgland.

The only option would be to buy the current stadium from the city & void the lease.
