Like what I've seen from Chapman. The kid really can't cross a ball though.

    Agreed. He’s a complete luddite.

Speaking of which, I find Carl Robinson’s “coaching” rather hilarious. Every team plays Davies tight to neutralize his speed. Does Robinson bring over extra players to combine with quick 1-2’s? Play more balls in behind? Do anything else to get his game going? Nope, nope, and nope.

Run to Bayern kid, as fast as you can.

There's been lots of little BS from Caldwell, but I wrote that about an extreme case: Knee on knee hit on Giovinco, replay clearly shows that the Vancouver player stuck his leg out, as Caldwell says "he's just standing his ground."

    Yes!! All over them!

How did Osorio squeeze in that ball? How did Giovinco manage to head it in? Great play!!

Caldwell is improving. But, his sidekick Luke Wileman, may be the worst soccer play by play announcer, in the history of TV sports. He babbles endlessly, feeling the need to fill every second with random, useless, stats. His job is to inform viewers who has the ball. Instead, he repeats himself numerous times, referencing random ancillary issues, often in mid sentence...how many times is he going to tell us that Morgan is a Canadian international? I just turn off the volume.

Compare him to the Workd Cup announcers.

This is typical of MLS play-by-play guys though. Wileman is actually one of the better ones. North American sports is never going to be called by some stoic guy who just speaks on occasion (unless you’re watching golf).

It could be worse. You could have Max Barettos.

He doesn’t seem to understand that his babbling takes all of the suspense out of the game. It is too distracting, like a doofus shaking his car keys in a movie theatre.

I bag on him here almost every time he's involved in the broadcast so I'm... almost... tired of doing so, but man there just has to be somebody somewhere trying to break into soccer broadcasting that TSN can bring onboard in his place. His pacing of questions is incredibly awkward, he routinely bungles names (called it the Canadian Soccer League instead of Canadian Premier League), it just seems like he's never totally sure of what he's doing. Even the pre-recorded pregame interview with Osorio, he moved the mic in front of Osorio before finishing his question and you could faintly hear him splurt the rest out. It's so amateurish.

The way he moved between staring at the camera, the interviewee, rambling incoherently... they should show that clip in schools about how NOT to do your job

Get Giovinco off the pitch ASAP. This is done, and we absolutely need him vs. San Jose with Jozy suspended.
