Jays have 40 years of memories, including a whole cohort of people who can still tell you every position's player for 92. They had 6 years of solid contending & that builds a base.

BUT, their average attendance in 2010 was 20K & people were wondering if the game would ever be as popular.

Ultimately, every Toronto sports team but the Leafs develops a core base that always goes & then hopes to add to it by having some good results.

To me, 14K at a summer mid week game with a couple of week's notice in the middle of a long crappy season is actually a good base to have.

He said average. He's not wrong.

The Blue Jays are 13th in average home attendance this year - but lower in % of capacity...

    That’s about right.

In 92 the Jays drew 4 million. They don’t anymore. Not by a long shot.

Chapman was superb. Gio and Jozy wantbto win, and more importantly, clearly want to play here.

    Oso!

I agree, TFC is a GTA team.
Jays bring in fans from all over Canada who travel to Toronto and use up a vacation day to sit in a concrete pizza oven.

Travelling from other parts of Canada specifidally for the jays? Really? Far more people go to Jays games from across the country because they are visiting the area. They play every day and its a great day out for them. Its a tourist attraction. Only club in town that has that luxory.

Every year a Voyageur gets to present the cup to the winning team. I got the opportunity this year.
