Very good second half, looking like our old selves in spurts. Glad to see us not bunker with a late lead for the second game in a row.

Playoffs still feel like too much of a longshot, but if we can play well to close out the year and prove that our healthy squad is still a top MLS team, I can live with that.

Did you not see these guys down 3 goals with 120 minutes left in their season?

They are 6 points back. In July.

This is a walk in the cake.

Don't forget TFC got two games on hand. They are striking distance for 6th place right now.

    Now that's a starting eleven.
Yes sir, been saying it all along, we were playing exactly like the players we had on the pitch this whole season. Its really no surprise we won tonight, and are dominating now with the starters back together the last two games. Playoffs may still be tough to make, but this team is fine for a strong second have.

Nice bit afterwards where both Hasler and Edwards went to the south to pay their respects and got a good cheer back.

We have moved on from last year but those two will always be TFC Champions.

Delgado moves the ball around quicker. I know people rag on him but we needed quicker ball movement & got it with him forcing the play.

Exactly, I totally agree. So many cases yesterday (and other games) where Chicago wasn't settled, but TFC players hadn't looked around and identified obviously good chances before receiving the ball. Instead they opted to hold the ball long, or to pass backwards, thereby killing our chances. Delgado looks ahead more. Sure those quick passes can be riskier. I also thought Delgado was more accurate on average than he was recently, which made his "risk / reward" ratio better last night.

I think even the ball boys knew that change was needed. Credit to Vanney for not waiting too long to make it, like he's done far too many times this season. Morgan should never see anything but the left flank ever again. Shocking decision to put the most one-footed player ever on his opposite wing, especially while there's a natural right-back playing in the middle.

At the end of the day, a massive three points heading into a grueling couple of weeks. Nice to get a free pizza lunch at work again.

Yes the formation change really helped. Morrow looked about as bad as Morgan on the right side in the previous games. We obviously miss Hasler in that spot. I wonder what the plan is? They obviously don't want to blow the budget relief they got for trading Hasler on an identical player. I guess Auro can slot into that spot on the right once he's healthy; perhaps also VDW once (if?) Moore is back; or perhaps after we sign a new CB in the summer...???

Has anybody seen any pics or videos posted about Hasler & Edwards in front of the south end? Couldn't find anything yet. This is a crappy part of football, and MLS in particular. Edwards & Hasler were a couple of guys who loved the city & loved the team. Molinaro has an upcoming story about Hasler. Does this type of trading happen in other footy leagues outside of MLS? I guess in most leagues, you can't just be traded w/o your consent during your contract? And at the end of your contract, you would have a say in where you sign next (whereas in MLS, teams will have rights on you even after a contract is over, at least for many years until you reach the limited free agent status).

When this happens to international players in particular, I think word gets around and holds MLS back. International players will think twice about signing, or demand a premium. First they have to make the big jump to MLS (and all the impact that can have on your career). Then they have no idea when they might get "traded" mid-season w/o warning. Some MLS cities are definitely more desirable to play in & live in than others. Only the biggest players can probably demand a no-trade clause.

    No kidding.

To be honest, while Delgado turned into the difference in this game, his recent form wouldn't have made it obvious to me. I was extremely pleased to see him have a good half.

I think it also affirms what many have been saying here - many of TFC's bench players could be starters on other MLS teams. Edwards looked like one of the best players chicago had on the pitch.

A good win, but still a long row to hoe over the rest of the season. They win in Atlanta, then we're talking.

Good point. Morgan at LB, Morrow at CB and VDW ar RB would have been better if those were the players he w@nted on the pitch.
