Thornton, if not an original MLS'er, was pretty close, and was the Fire's starting keeper for many years before an unsuccessful stint in Portugal. Looks like he'll fill the Guzan Gap in Carson.

That's a pretty solid pick up for them as long as he can perform like he did when he was in Chicago. They will still be solid between the posts IMO
