Default NYCFC Away Support - June 24th

Heading to NYC for that weekend so will be at the game.

grabbing tickets in 223/224 as that seems to be the designated away section based on their website.

Is this the case? Is anyone else going down and if so where are you sitting?

I'm going. I contacted one of the NYCFC Fan Service reps. The ticket that I bought said I was in Section 217.

    The rep was: washington.cafferatta@nycfc.com

He sent me a link through a site called fevo.com and the ticket was $27USD.

Yes. The stadium map shows 217 for away supporters. 3 of us (old guys) are going.
If you look at the stadium map on their website (or google 'NYFC away area' or similar) then it's clear it's not a great view. Of course at NYCFC there are no good views (whereas every seat at RB Arena has a perfect view), but we were thinking of maybe buying in 216, 215 or 214 - but we'll probably land up in 217 even if we do!
By the way, NYRB play Dallas the night before (Saturday) at 6pm, so we're going down for a double game weekend.

thanks all, I really appreciate it. The idea of the double is interesting.....will float it with the missus but we are there for a few days of holiday so not sure how much we want to cram into the time we have.

cheers and see you in 217

No idea what the pregame will be like. Looks like a thin group of us going.

Anyone have a line on what the inebriatti get upto on the road?

From what I understand those guys keep their cards pretty close to their chest. Doesn't seem like they like outsiders. Ive been in touch with the guy who runs the TorontoFC In NYC twitter account. He's looking into some things and said he will keep me in the loop.

It appears that away numbers will be quite small. I would highly recommend Legends/Football Factory in the midtown Manhattan. Will be a great time with the World Cup in full swing and it’s a short walk over to the subway that goes straight up to Yankee Stadium.

Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!

Second the Legends/Football Factory thing. Good NYC footy feel, we're welcome there, and I'm sure it'll be hopping for world cup anyways.

Here is some other info for travellers that was shared with our members (not a member? like away travel? become a member!)

Head via subway would be best plan.
Plan to arrive at Yankee Stadium for 4PM entry. Meet across street on edge of Heritage Field, see map. Staff waiting to escort you in.

Standard stuff inside, away section, concessions and washrooms nearby. Shared with home fans slightly, so heads up, watch your scarves, be cool.
Security will be top of section etc.

    Beer served til 70'.

At end of match, standard wait of 15-20 mins for away supporters while fans leave then you'll be escorted/directed to the subway to exit.

Pretty standard prohibited weapons, glass bottles, poles, computers, masks.
    Allowed items including:
Bags 16"x16"x8"..standard small, soft bags and drawstrings allowed only.
Flags without any poles and cannot be affixed to anything, max 4'x6'
    Plastic water bottles unopened.

If you purchased a ticket online you should be receiving a PDF of this info also for reference.

Have a fun away day! Rep and sing for the Reds on the road so they know you're there in Yankee Stadium!!

New York away days are great fun. Especially with the World Cup going on, it’s going to be great. I was meant to go to this game but life gets in the way sometimes .

    Enjoy the day guys!
