Default Other MLS Games This Weekend - March 17-18

    Saturday

Houston @ DCU 1:30 pm - DCU forced to play at a 5K stadium & can't sell those 5K of seats. Kinda like how this game is going to go. Houston 3 DCU 1 Why watch this game? Different stadia are always interesting for a few minutes

Chicago @ Minnesota2:00 pm - The Fire hasn't figured out its defence - neither have the Loons. The Loons lost their best player when Molina went out with an ACL tear but still have a lot of goals in them. Weird offensive lower table clash. 3-2 for the home team. Why watch this game? Goals are fun

Columbus @ Philly 2:00pm - Philly looked pretty darn good with Accam providing some spark - mind you, that was against the woeful Revs two weeks ago. Columbus has been impressive but nobody has really attacked that backline much yet. 2-1 for Columbus Why watch this game? Which of our east rivals is for real?

Orlando @ NYCFC 3:30pm - Orlando's defence is a hot mess. NYC is just plugging along. Home field will mean a lot this week. 4-1 for NYC. Why watch this game later? Keep an eye on NYC - they have been impressive so far.

Vancouver @ Atlanta 7:30pm - The opposite bowl. Huge distance apart geographically, financially & in style. Vancouver is going to bunker for 90 minutes & hit on the counter. Atlanta tried a new 3-5-2 last week and it worked well against the woeful DCU. The Caps are a tad better organized. 1-1 draw. Why watch this game? Clash of styles.

San Jose @ SKC 8:30pm - Two teams that haven't worked out their balance yet. SJE beat the Loons - not impressively. SKC has no attack yet but got goals from the midfield. A game crying out for a 1-1 draw. Why watch this game? Honestly, I don't know. Catch the highlights.

NYRB @ RSL 9:00pm - RSL has looked horrid while NYRB has looked impressive. This being MLS, RSL is going to be better this week. Not enough to win but it will not be a blowout. 2-2 draw Why watch this game? Petke vs. Marsch - betya somebody is going to be steamed afterwards for sure.

    Sunday

Seattle @ FCD 5:00pm - Neither team has been all that good to watch. Seattle is beat up and travel is not going to help. FCD to rebound here. 4-1 for FCD. Why watch this game? FCD's attack has to click one game and this might be it.

    Orlando really is bad.

    Watching RSL vs. NYRB.

RSL gives up a lot of space between the lines. Sure, they have a lead, but don't let the opposing team sit in front of your back 4.

NYRB with chances but couldn't make it happen. Saving it for Chivas.

Orlando throws Bendik under the bus on that passback.

Robinson’s coaching really baffles me. Down a man, he puts Davies at LB, where he’s less familiar with defensive responsibilities and puts Brek Shea in front of him. Davies routinely Beats 1-2 guys on the dribble but then moves the ball forward to Shea who shows more defensive discipline.

Why not play Davies further forward, force Atlanta to respect his ability to beat you on the dribble, and move your team out of its own half more often l. Then, put the more experienced Shea at LB, where Davies struggled to find his positioning.

It’s this type of consistent mediocrity that will see Vancouver become an best a mid table team. Between Robinson and Lendarduzzi the football is about as adventurous as watching paint dry and as predictable.

So somebody looked it up & Dempsey now is only 1 red card being Stephen Leinhart (who is widely considered the dirtiest player ever in MLS).

That's 3 nut sack attack red cards (including Bloom back in 2015).

Wow that DC match locale! Maryland Soccerplex! Capacity 4000 and wasn't more than half full! Sorry to see that that many STH couldn't get up for a snowy opener an hours drive from RFK. Great comeback for a point.

Your personnel mgmt is bang on. Glad for highlights though. I doubt I would've enjoyed Atlanta's fans going gaga on a team a player up barely able to pot one. That and wanting to see some Vancouver players do well...except that Waston character attacking the official. Damn. Is he seeing more than one game off?

    KC v SJ

No Didic in the KC lineup but Wondo scores in a losing outing making his all time 135 TO OFFICIALLY MOVE PAST JEFF CUNNINGHAM.

Haha plus he gives the official the sarcastic clap right in his face. Hate that.

Seattle just fell apart after that. Urruti gets an easy one past Frei and then the rout begins. No Tesho though.
