This thread is very quiet. I thought there would be some new signings in place by now. Anyone know then the MLS transfer window closes?

From what I gather, Bez is looking to bring in some big names. Rumor has it we might add: Auro Jr., Gregory Van Der Wiel, Chris Mavinga, Drew Moor, Victor Vasquez and Jozy Altidore all by the end of the month. I think these six players can help us get over the playoff line

Ah, the Arsene Wenger approach
A little bit more info on the Ecuadorian forward they are supposedly interested in...
https://www.metro.us/sports/source-m...QIC2FY.twitterThe defending MLS Cup champions might be getting more dynamic in the final-third, a bit of welcome news in a season that is woefully underwhelming to date.
Washington Corozo, a 19-year old forward who has featured heavily for Ecuador’s U-17 and U-20 national team, might be headed to MLS. And a league source tells Metro that the team that might end up being his final destination is Toronto FC.
Currently on the books of Ecuadorean club side Independiente, Corozo is an intriguing attacking player who has seen his value and promise steady climb over the past year. He can play on either side of the field, either as a wing or a forward. His preferred location though is close to goal.
The source did not indicate that Toronto was close to an imminent deal with Corozo, one of the more talented young attacking options developed by Ecuador in this recent cycle. But the source said that Toronto has scouted the player and that Toronto is “close to bringing” the player in on a deal this transfer window.

We've traded Hasler to the Fire - what the fuck? The Chicago Fire have traded Jon Bakero and $50k of GAM to Toronto FC for Nico Hasler, per sources

He is an international
50K in GAM is nothing to be sneezed at
Another move to come after this.

Hope he works out better than the last Spanish guy,
He's been here for less than a year. Unrest? I don't think this will make anything considerably worse. Everyone on the team seems to be aware that changes of some kind need to be made.
Hasler is our third choice RB and our 3rd best right winger. If Bakero can contribute, and we save 100k on the cap, than I'm not losing any sleep.
They are clearing space. Bigger moves are coming it would seem.
P.S. would Edwards as a throw-in be so bad?
The Fire spent $400K in allocation on Edwards
********
Bakero is a project to even become a role player off the bench. Weird as he is an int space there but TFC must see something in him that leads them to believe he can be somebody in 2019 or 2020.
More I think about this, the more this looks like Ricketts days here are just counting down to when the CPL can hire him as a star forward.

Given our injuries on the back end and moving on from Nico who was serviceable at the back I would assume a defender is on the way
jozy s backup?
i like the move.i think tos must be on the way out.and he is on a 200 k salary.wonder if hasler is on the plane with tfc..yikes
What the fuck - why does the FO get so wet when they see Spanish nationality? Bad deal. Hasler was incredibly versatile, technically sound, of a good age AND affordable and we can only get a wash-out guy with no legs plus 50k?!
Suspect Bakero doesn’t matter, this guy is going to TFC2....
This is about using Hasler's salary cap space (his salary always seemed too low to me, it may be much higher going forward) elsewhere.
I wish they had tried Hasler at striker.
C'est la vie.

“What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.”
hasler has been average at best this year..not a starter in my opinion.
Hasler was a fine utility player.
Will wait to see what comes of this.
international for international not a bad trade lets see what Bakero can do. plus we got money wonder where those funds go. We paid Hasler 132,000 and Bakero is at 85,000 plus 50,000 allows us to spend an additional 97,000 on other players

It's official. Chicago announced it.
Hasler a great bench player. Which allows our team to have so called "depth'
No offense but what we got in return seems more of a gamble. Let's see what TFC does with this little bit of extra cash. I would have rather taken more cash instead of the player they got or another pick in draft
Interesting to that we play Chicago as well lol.
Each minute that passes that TFC doesn't announce the signing of Bakero; makes it sound like hes not joining the team, but we may be flipping him, even better if we get a good bargain
I'm still not seeing it on www.torontofc.ca, can you provide me a link on the website where it says about the signing; as of 8:07 PM they have posted it, sorry just like to get my news right from the club
