We should have been in Skydome - though it looks like we've dodged a cold snap (there's benefit to making Mexicans play in the cold - I don't see it for Denver.

But Denver is much warmer than Toronto, in general, at this time of year. With less facilities available there, it looks like just bad luck.

But 1,000 people? Really? Why wasn't it in their season pack? They qualified for this tournament long before we did!

It is part of Rapids season tix pack.

From what I read that is the sold number of tickets. Another 6700 or so with their season ticket holders and then scores of tickets given away for free in the last couple of weeks. Some season ticket holders that didn't renew for 2018 apparently got sent 4 tickets each to this game for free. They are doing their best to get tickets out there. Not sure how many will actually walk through the gate.

It'll be something like the below that can be pulled up over most of the face and ears.

The game from the above was played in -15 temps in Norway between Rosenborg and Leverkusen.

BUNDESLIGA side Leverkusen will wear ski masks for their Europa League game at Rosenborg Trondheim.

With sub-zero temperatures expected in Norway tonight (Thursday am AEDT), Leverkusen's players trained with the masks yesterday in their final session at Lerkendal Stadium, and have faced freezing temperatures since they arrived in Norway.
Leverkusen beat Trondheim 4-0 in the first leg on September 16 in the warmth of early autumn in Germany, but coach Jupp Heynckes expects very different weather in the frosty second leg.
"We expect incredibly difficult conditions," said Heynckes.
"We will most likely have minus-15C and the ground will be frozen hard, the players will need to adapt.
However, ex-Liverpool centre-back Sami Hyypia is expecting few personal problems coping with the intense cold.
"The cold is no problem for me, I am from Finland," he said.

That's really informative! Thanks for posting this. I wondered what they could do, given the rules.

    Here is my scenario,

Officials agree to allow ski masks/headbands.
    TFC wins 1-0
Home leg TFC draws 0-0 and advances (best team)
CONCACAF officials decides that said ski masks/headbands contravene regulations
and penalizes winner (TFC) and gives Colorado 2 goals and takes away TFC win.
Colorado advances, weaker team plays in Mexico to ensure Tigres win next round.

Not crazy, just someone who's seen teams get CONCACAF'd a few times too often.

As far as I know snoods were banned by Fifa 6-7 years ago.

The game is on at 3am here so I'll be hoping to catch a replay online tomorrow night unfortunately need to sleep.

I'm guessing they can use the below to wear whatever

Non-dangerous protective equipment, for example headgear, facemasks and knee and arm protectors made of soft, lightweight padded material is permitted as are goalkeepers’ caps and sports spectacles.

So unless the Rapids have less than 3,000 season seat holders, something is off. It was said only 3,000 tickets had been sold including 1,000 to supporters.

I have been interpreting this to mean 1,000 single game tickets. As per others, 6700 seasons

Doesn't look like CONCACAF allows a so called indoor "field". Per section XII (H) (1):

Matches may only be played in an all-seated stadium.

There may also be other sections of CONCACAF's minimum stadium requirements this may violate.

CONCACAF requires start times to be at 8:00 or 10:00; this is presumably due to TV requirements.

yes. But they can change that. It’s entirely their call.

Given the starting line up, TFC clearly doesn’t think the weather is an issue.

really glad to see Morgan on the bench, good for him.

maybe. He also seems to honour success by giving the first start to those who started the final. Isn’t this that lineup? Except for Beita ( gone) and Mavinga ( hurt). Otherwise Irwin would have started
