    Default Barrett Speaks

    Chad Barrett ready for debut

New striker trained at BMO Field on Friday

Toronto FC's new striker Chad Barrett trained with the team for the first time Friday. Barrett signed earlier this week from Chicago Fire and will make his debut against FC Dallas at BMO Field on Sunday, kick off 4:00 p.m.
Barrett is pleased to be in Toronto. "I half expected a move, but I only found out on the day of the All-Star Game," he said. "It has taken a bit of patience to get to this point, but I'm glad I'm finally here and had a good first session with the guys. It was a great practice and I'm ready to go."

Yeah, just read that on the team site. He sounds excited to be here, hopefully he can translate that enthusiasm into goals.

He will score...I can't wait to have a striker with heart and skill. He won't score 20 but he will score 10-12 a year

being 19 is definitely wasted on 19 year olds isn't it?

We should definitely chant his name to make him feel welcome. Simple, "Chad Barrett" clap-clap-clap-clap-clap should do fine and at least then everyone is on board -- and even better he'll hear it.

Just wanted to get that one in there before 25 different chants come through with 5 verses for the lad

Gahd, they sucked. The inability of most reporters to ask decent questions in scrums drives me out of my mind.
