Lotsa Saturday home matches. Too bad most of them are early season and late season.

'bout time we had a Canada Day home match.

Houston would be a good away trip in late April, not as hot as it would be getting close to summer. And going to Chicago in the summer is always a blast, especially as it would be the first in back to back games with the Fire.

Two home matches during the Ex. Awesome!

SWEET!!! I'm going to be in Orlando at Disney that weekend! My son and I will get tickets. Anybody else going down there for that game?

Along with the World Cup break this year in June, as always the IndyCar race rules out one weekend (if not a whole week or more) in July, and then I think the Caribbean Carnival may similarly occupy Exhibition Place for the first weekend in August.

Is a Canada Day game a good idea? I'm not a baseball person, but it seems to have become more of an annual Blue Jay thing for the general public. And I went to the TFC II game on July 1 last year in Vaughan, and there might have been less than 100 people there.

I also think we are away in the summer so much because TFC is now a road draw - defending champs - bad boy attitude etc. etc. etc.
There have been many seasons with few home games in the summer, even before TFC was good. Most years I've been complaining about that. I think partly they figure TFC sells well at home even for cold / crappy early season games. Partly it's conflicts (varying from year to year), like the Honda Indy, CFL games, broadcaster preferences, whatever.

I go to every home game, but I freeze my ass off during all the early season games, especially in the evening. Not happy about that, but it's the same almost every year.

We might be away on vacation for a while this summer, so I guess fewer summer home games could be better for me this year.

Isn't TFCII playing at BMO for home games this year since it is part of our STH package? I guess that affects our schedule for the first team too.

I think the schedule is cut in half. Half at BMO and half at Lamport for TFCII

We have to wait and see because there are renovations going to happen at Lamport after the Winter rentals finish up shortly.

The Wolfpack are kicked out of Lamport until May or so (Their season is essentially split right in half, their first 10 games or so are over in the UK, then the next 10 or so are here)

I don't know when the Canadian Championship games are supposed to happen, but you're right, it does look like two of them (I would assume likely one home, one away) could fit into the June MLS World Cup break. If it wasn't for a L'impAct home game against Orlando scheduled for June 13, there might have been enough room for three games in the June break.
Some possible dates that appear to be open for all three Canadian MLS teams are May 29, June 5, June 16, June 19, and June 27.

It seems some think another racing series (Formula E, kicked out of Montreal by their newly-elected mayor) may be attempting to worm their way into using the Exhibition Place set-up and take up yet another July weekend, although I'm not sure that would even be possible since there's a TFC or Argo home game scheduled on all four of the other July weekends. You'd think maybe Downsview Airport, particularly now that there's a TTC subway and GO Train station there, might be a better place for the auto racing, if Bombardier could be convinced to allow it to be used for that purpose for one or two weekends a year.

Indeed, the summer (June-July-August) home game schedule is lighter than all previous years:

Apparently TFC will have the least amount of miles traveled by seasons end in the entire league.

I actually prefer spring, late summer/early fall games. June/ July / early Aug games, especially afternoon games, can be really warm...and my beer gets hot to quickly!

That is a great pre-season tuneup for the Reds. Hopefully their is a stream. With it being on the campus of the US university, internet should not be an issue.

Edmonton has ceased operations for the 2018 season. They are looking to re-organize and re-brand. It is expected that they are moving to the CPL and this was their way of getting out of the NASL.

I hope we play AS Blainville in the Semi Final and completely beat the shit out of them with our TFC2 team.
It'll be very nice to have humiliated two teams from Quebec in the Canadian Championship

I actually want to play Oakville - seeing as I live in Oakville. I'm going to try to get to the Blue Devils vs Blainville game in Oakville. They play at Sheridan College on Trafalgar. I don't know if either of these teams will get past the Fury though... :-)

Well of you look at the FA Cup, non league teams do knock off premier league teams, so it could happen. You never know.

I initially thought this would start earlier in the year but I guess to be fair they had to wait for Oakville and Blainville to actually have there teams together.

I just can't see a semi-pro team of mostly U23s beating a completely professional side over two legs. Maybe one leg if the Fury play kids, sure, but if they bring their full first squad and get serious, then they don't have a hope of winning the return leg. Neither will the Fury when they face TFC at BMO Field.

The more I think about I agree. I also think the Reds will do pretty much what they did last year going with a reserve squad on that turf at TD for the away leg. Especially considering it will be the middle match of three road games in 7 days. Orlando on the Saturday, Ottawa on the Wednesday and Chicago on the Saturday after. Will be a whirl wind of a week.

if we make it to the final of the ACC, it means we'd have to play 13 games between july 13 and september 1st. Good thing we'll have Bradley and Alitdore.
