66:15 – Every Way You Want It

Roldan, Svensson and Marshall all get schooled as TFC volleyball it up the field. Seba’s placement and weight on this ball are perfection, otherwise it’s offside. Jozy does his bit to cleverly stay onside, and is running at top speed on a bad right ankle, which is his plant foot.

    En espanol:
I googled “Adiós de la taquilla! “which is “Farewell from the box office!” - which is, I think is a beautiful way of saying, “the big star has just ended this” (any Spanish speakers out there know what that actually means?)….
EDIT: RealG-TFC advises below that it's “sequia” not “taquilla”... “Farewell to the drought” (ie goal drought)

    94th minute

Cheyrou makes the interception …. only 3 minutes after subbing on. Benoit will be the TFC leader in “ratio of humongous playoff contributions per playoff minutes played”, for a looooooong time

Here’s the view from inside the pyro:

    Jozy

We have had seven incredible, game saving or game changing, series winning, championship winning, massive playoff goals for us over the last two years, and Jozy has five of them, and was a key part of the two others.

It is impossible to exaggerate how great he has been

Besides 66:15, here are the other six goals....

NYCFC first leg last year. Nervous, edgy game, nothing like the second leg blowout. We couldn’t find a way though. 84th minute. If we go back to NY at 0-0, that’s a very different second leg. This is where the magic started, in retrospect:

Montreal first leg: we were dead, until he scored. Dead. (That's a nifty little ball from Seba, btw. It would have been easy to just blast it, nobody would have blamed him.)

Montreal second leg: one of the all time TFC goals. The skill Seba and Jozy show here is unreal. Interesting to realize that much of Seba’s value to TFC in the last year has been in his service to Jozy in key moments.

Cheyrou’s goal and Ricketts’ goal against Montreal leg two last year also belong in here. Jozy is in on both of them, and of course did a lot of the work alone on the Ricketts clincher.

Columbus last week. Maybe the best goal in TFC history, from a team skill perspective. Also from a wounded warrior perspective.

Bonus content. Here is Jozy’s story as put out by TFC in 2015. A lot of great stuff in this. The USMNT highlights really say something about what quality he has always been, and what a bunch of ingrates USMNT fans are. (btw check out who provides the service on Jozy’s first USMNT goal at 5:30)

Thank you for this. I've been rewatching all the content I can consume since the final. Won't be done celebrating this for a while.

I agree, really unbelievable how clutch Jozy has been in the playoffs.

For me, Jozy's goal from Saturday is tied for top team-skill goal. Reason: starting with Marky's interception/pass at the edge of our own box, there were 5 one-touch passes; then 2 touches each by Seba & Jozy; then the ball in their net 13 seconds after Marky's touch at the opposite end.

I know there's a cleaner version of this skycam view out there. I saw it embedded in one of the 99+ articles I've read in the past few days. Maybe somebody can find it. In the meantime, this is good enough to show how awesome the whole sequence was:

He says "Adiós a la sequía". Sequía being [goal] drought because he then continues to talk about how many minutes Frei managed to keep the score sheet clean.

Also if were including stuff from the MTL series last year, Hagglund's gol has to be here.

^Yeah, that's the only big one that didn’t involve Altidore directly!

So many great goals. We have more great memories now than a whole bunch of pre 2007 franchises do.

Indeed. What I love about this club is that we always seem to eventually get redemption.

Miss out on the first Canadian Championship after tying USL-level Montreal at home and watch them celebrate (how Julius James missed that tap-in, I do not know) at BMO only to pull the 1-6 Miracle in Montreal win the next season.

We miss out on the playoffs by getting thrashed by the Red Bulls on the last day of the season, but our first ever playoff clinch is against that same club, only a few years later.

The first playoff game we ever play we get destroyed by Montreal but the following year we are the ones that knock them out in dramatic fashion.

    And of course Seattle.

Fantastic collection - thanks for putting together.

I had completely forgotten about Ricketts terrible swing-and-a-miss in the NYC game last year before Jozy put it in. Ricketts absolutely has NO left foot abilities, and that moment completely summed it up.

I dont know how to extract just the one video, but here's where you can find the ESPN version of the Altidore cup goal. FINALLY, FINALLY! is the call

Vazquez seems to enjoy doing this huh? I remember him doing the same thing to Robles (ironically on a goal that was called back) earlier this year, and I could've sworn he did it on another occasion as well... check him at 3:05.

So many great videos here. Great idea to do this, @ensco

The Jozy goals and involvement in goals for us during our runs cannot be understated. The guy has been a playoff giant for us and is a legend.

    Michael Bradley. Everywhere.

Giovinco pulling strings and setting up plays.

    Vazquez doing his thing.

Cheyrou making the big veteran plays in key moments.

Alex Bono making those saves this season to keep us in games (that stop on BWP is one for the ages and may have saved our season).

We could go down the list of players and likely pick a big moment for each of them. Mavinga stepping up with a huge defensive game against NYRB springs to mind. Hagglund's smashing header. Edwards' blocked shot late. Cooper's tricky ball skills killing off games and his huge fake on Frei that lead to the Vazquez goal, plus mixing things up in the middle and making big plays to keep the ball. Osorio's tenacity and fight in the final, as well as his almost perfect passing record...

Those are just a few of the moments I'll treasure from not just this year, but last year's run as well. What a team. What a run. What great memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Toronto FC baby...best team everrrrrrrrrr -Jozy

The passing between Vazquez and Giovinco on that Columbus goal, followed by Jozy's finish, is some real top class shit.

We've come a long way from balls aimlessly pinballing around peoples' shins, and strikers who just kicked the ball as hard as they could in the general direction of the net.

I've just been delirious and still revelling in the glorious win and the feeling of redemption for supporting the Reds all this time.

With apologies to HIP Fans...this song is my playlist and i started putting words to it after TFC won the CUP....so .... I hope some of you enjoy my musings here....Try it out with the the Original Song:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN9i5Z01kFI

    Enjoy !!
    MY TFC works!
    It’s the reason I can’t sleep
It’s the middle of the nite
    I’m not alone
That my thoughts-they might be right
    I feel it may work
    Greg Vanney’s plan works
    Our Reds make it work

    Formations and switches
    Give the Players a break
But when the sun hits KIA Training Grounds
    They’ll gravitate
    Bradley dons his Shirt
    He knows it will work

    They assemble from afar
    Coming in by planes
To take it past the bar
Setting a brand new record pace
Our Reds are hard at work
    Altidore will work
    Osorio since birth
    Vasquez will work

    Tim B says Don’t Hate!
    We are here to play
The Grounds Crew works on that pitch
    every single fricken day
Lieweke was berserk-he knew it would work
    Our Reds made it work

    We PROUDLY wear our Shirts
We broke through all the pain
    No matter where you are
In love with Toronto, I remain
    Giovinco proved his worth
    Gold Star on Red Shirts
    TFC’s REBIRTH !!
    TFC’s REBIRTH !!

    Na NaNaNa Na Na
    Na NaNa NaNa
    Na NaNaNa NaNa
Na NaNaNa Na Na Na Na

    The reason I lost sleep
In the middle of the nite
    I wasn’t alone
That the Sounders - they weren’t right
I knew that it would work
    Greg Vanney’s plan worked
    Our Reds made it work

    With Fellow Supporters
    We all made it work

    We all made it work

The Canadian Championship winner. Starts with a Bradley steal, Vazquez through ball, Edwards to Giovinco for some last second heroics. Magic.
