So Colorado, then likely Tigres, then likely Club America or Dallas and then the final. That's our path.

Gonna be tough as hell but I can't wait.

Well that's all balls/gonna earn it. We even got the slot that makes us play away in the 2nd leg in the QF
That's all I'll say about that.

Kinda funny we planned a Mexican preseason only to get the Rapids. Guess we gotta beat them to make it worthwhile!

Likewise. Hopefully the preseason in Mexico gets the boys ready for the over the top flopping and other nonsense CONCACAF-ing that goes on. If/when we get through Colorado, it's a whole new animal.

Well that was the absolute worse case scenario face the best Pot 2 team in Rd 1 followed by a QF test vs the best team in the region

Not the best draw for TFC, really bad draw for Tigres.

The only upside of potentially playing Tigres second round is that hopefully it’ll still be cold here

Jeez, guys, this is great. Tigres are the best team in Mexico.

I don’t care when we play them, I just want to play them!

btw Monterrey is a relatively safe, fun away trip

Th reality is the thing was set up to have an MLS vs Mexican QF for all teams so it's not like there was an easy draw likely for any MLS team.....frankly playing Colorado is no worse than playing some of the other minnows and frankly better than playing the teams from Costa Rica - I did not want Saprissa in Round 1.....if we can't beat a crappy Colorado team than that is on us.....

Just thought of the silver lining to the draw.

We have a bunch of TAM to spend this year. Assuming we're looking at prospects in Latin America, how is our pitch improved that we will play Tigres and possibly America?

Not counting chickens, but do we have an idea when the QFs will take place? Would love it to be just before the MLS season starts so (in case we get there) we don't have to worry about rotations.

I guess that is a positive way of looking at it.

In a way, this road is sort of like our playoffs. The opponents to get to the final will be the hardest. If we manage to get through that, we would be battle hardened for whoever reaches the end from the other side of the bracket.

    Round of 16 February 20–22, 2018 February 27 – March 1, 2018
    Quarter-finals March 6–8, 2018 March 13–15, 2018
    Semi-finals April 3–5, 2018 April 10–12, 2018
    Finals April 17–19, 2018 April 24–26, 2018

Sorry - just saw the post above

We could end up playing at BMO in back to back weeks to start March if we beat Colorado and draw Tigres in the QF --- if (heaven forbid) we lost to Tigres (if the tournament goes according to seed), at least it pretty much aligns with the start of the regular MLS season.....

If TFC can get through that bracket, won't be any questions about who's the best MLS team in history.

Step 1 - beat Colorado at all costs.

Step 2 - you play the best on the continent. Whether it's the finals or not - doesn't matter. If you lose, you weren't suppose to win in the first place. If you win, think of what that means - and for the psychological state of everyone else in the tournament. Toronto would have to believe they could go in and pound it out with anyone else in the tournament... and everyone else in still in it would likely have eyes wide open to the fact that Toronto can beat a team like Tigres.

We should be excited about getting the chance to play a number of really good teams.

Boooooooring. Any team outside MLS would've got me thinking travel. I know there's plenty to do in Colorado but I can do that almost any other year.

This is crazy. They have the two highest ranked teams in FiveThirtyEight's rankings facing each other in the Quarterfinals. I just realized that there was no possible first-round opponent *but* Colorado, since the US and Mexican teams aren't allowed to play each other. That means that no matter what happens each year, the Canadian team is going to face an MLS team in the first round.
