Another right back, that seems odd.

Unless they’re converting Hasler to a midfielder. Think he lined up CM in the game today beside Fraser
A right back depth move makes sense to me.
They've had a good look at Kubel now in camp. MLS second rounders rarely make their teams.
People are pencilling Kubel into that slot way too fast.

https://esporte.uol.com.br/futebol/u...ime-da-mls.htmUOL now confirming the Globo report that #SãoPauloFC is close to finalizing season-long loan of Auro, and say he's already in Mexico, where #TFC is for preseason. 22 year old RB is no longer in #SPFC's plans and had been training separately. #TFCLive

Any chance of Auro, Kubel, or Hasler being able to play left back? Hasler does have midfield capability. Also the Darwin Quintero news is interesting. Would certainly seem as though Endoh is out of the plans if we bring Quintero and Auro in.
Getting ahead of myself here but shouldn’t there be some more competition at LB too, if we’re going to push so hard on the right side?
While not perfect, i’d feel comfortable saying Hassler starts on most MLS teams. Maybe he’s looking for a move out or something for the sort?
I'm interested in the idea that Bez is working the young Brazilian loan market.
This is a very tricky corner of the world football market. Brazilians are overvalued as they have marketing appeal, and they go out by the boatload to secondary markets worldwide.
Bez tried this last year

This Auro lad had a trial with Barcelona.
Mino and Auro just started following each other on Instagram

I'm still really confused behind the rationale for signing another right back, Auro doesn't seem like the kind of guy to fill the Alseth sort of role. Where does Hasler fit in all of this?
Apparently hold-up on any Quintero move is the fact that neither Vancouver (probably because they're cheap) and Toronto (prob because we don't have cap space) want to pay a fee but even then his current contract is out of TAM range so this prob more bs
While I haven't seen Auro play, I think his signing would be another indication Vanney wants to deploy a four-back more often this season. By my recollection, Vanney subbed Hasler off every game he started at RB; I don't think he's suitable for the role. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him traded for some allocation money.
Mino (again, not knowing much about him) would be great to push Marky for a starting spot and maybe fill in as a vice-Vazquez. I'm not buying the Quintero rumours - far too much for a guy who might not even be a regular starter.
Any chance that the 5 million that they want for Quintero is actually in pesos and not us dollars? Just a random thought. 5 million pesos is 267,000 us dollars
The Mariano Mino thing is still weird to me weirder than the Auro too many right backs thing.
He looks stellar yeah but against Argentinian second division guys and it’s not like he’s exactly really young and up and coming either he’s 23 and on top of that doesn’t even play a position of need for us.
Auro has some nice moves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs_Y0Up3dAo
I wonder if we plan to use him on the wing.
Update: Sao Paulo lists him as a right winger: http://saopaulofc.in/?p=1024
This looks like a pretty good signing.

So with three international spots left, we have five names in contention - Mino, Auro, Quintero, Endoh, and Kubel.
Quintero is likely a no due to price. Maybe Endoh and Kubel on TFC2 deals to start for a longer look to see if one of them earns a first team and international slot?
Anyone know what the going rate to acquire an extra INTL slot via trade in the MLS was last year?
50-75k
Allocation. Just looked it up. Wiki has every trade made. Atlanta traded one to LAFC for a fourth round pick. I wouldn't mind giving up a late pick for one

Interestingly, we have the most available slots left
