Brad Guzan has been granted a work permit and can now complete his switch from MLS outfit Chivas USA. The US international goalkeeper agreed to join Villa last month and has now been given the go ahead to launch his Barclays Premier League career.
Guzan, who is widely seen as one of the hottest prospects in the MLS, almost joined Celtic last season before his first unsuccessful attempt to move to Villa Park.
The 23-year-old played his youth football at the Chicago Magic Soccer Club and went on to play two seasons at the University of South Carolina.
After spending two years with the Chicago Fire Reserves in the USL Premier Development League he chose to forgo the rest of his college years, signing a Generation adidas contract with MLS.
Chivas USA drafted Guzan with the second overall pick of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.
Last season Guzan was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.#

Yeah nothing but keepers in the US. Atleast the quality of North American players is starting to be reconized.
