Default Greg Vanney's Mother (Eriq's grandmother) passed away. Tribute at 69?

    http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dig...14&mid=7367152

Greg's mother passed away last week at the age of 69 and he made it back from visiting family in time to be at the game in Cbus.

Applause at 69th (start of 68:00..) minute to show support for him and Eriq or is that kept for those closer to the club?

If the higher-ups of the group could pull it off I'd say a condolences card at the very least signed on behalf of all supporters (maybe add some flowers?) - but that would be a thing to set up with the front office to have at BMO for him and his family when they arrive.

I do feel as though with all the gratitude and praise thrown around by supporters for the turnaround these last two years, whether it be bez or the players or leiweke, we haven't been vocal enough in our appreciation and support for Greg. I think any gesture would go a long way. He's basically family after all.

This is what I was thinking. often they choose the age or player number if applicable to do it. I'm no where near the south end but will be happy to get my section up to speed on the moment.

i think flowers or a charity donation would be more personal, but an applause wouldnt hurt anyone.

if someone is organizing, i'd be happy to chip in a few bucks

    Condolences to Vanney's family.

I think the applause is a good idea, we can maybe give a few simple/generic Vanney chant to make sure he knows the support is for him (and his family). I was thinking the "*clap clap....clap clap clap....clap clap clap clap*...Vanney" (simple enough and should catch on).

I hope that all the SGs pitch in on this. We need to let Vanney know that we are always there for him through thick and thin.

A moment of Silence with scarves raised - if someone could make a quick and dirty banner with her name and born/death years - I'd say that would be more than enough

If anything - just scarves raised for moment of silence

Only reason I'm in for this is because he made it back for CBus and didn't take time off - that's sacrifice.

anyone have a contact at the club that can see if they are planning to ask for a moment of silence etc?

I would prefer applause to silence. Moment of silence is to mourn a tragedy, applause seems more appropriate to celebrate a life.

Will see what we can do - either a chant or moment of silence. Have an eye/ear out.

Or a card will be circulating at Joes.

A moment of silence in the middle of the game will just get lost. As will applause unless it is coordinated throughout.

Happy to sign something personal delivered to him. I think that's the best gesture for this situation.
That's all I'll say about that.

I don't think drawing attention to the fact he lost his mother while he's trying to do his job is the best idea imo.

Card/flowers/donation in her honour would be the way to go. If there is a card or anything going around Joes on Friday, i'll gladly chip in.

Doing something in game is a bit much imo.

A card, with condolence, sent to the front office would be the best way to go.

Great love does not exist without joy and without great suffering ,that's why One club is worth only as much as its fans !
