Anything's possible. Sounds like he had a plan to visit his doctor during our bye-week anyway, which suggests there is something specific he is seeing him about.

This concerns me. Seba has not been his usual dominant self since September. Still very good, but something is missing in his game.

Shortest Offseason Ever. Might not have been long enough - with the holidays and other activities he might not have had time to dedicate to rehab. Then pick right back up into pre-season and all that associated travel as well.

He's doing what a lot of people do on March Break when they don't go south - take the kids off to see the Grandparents.

    ****

As for anything more then that, 2 games is not enough to come to any conclusions. If he's still having issues in late April, then I'll think about it.

It's not the first time he's done this since joining IIRC

No but the times he went there were known issues. (If I remember correctly).

Based on the latest story from Molinaro, there's a good chance Beitashour gets held out as a precaution. Vazquez had a "routine knee injection" and is likely to see reduced minutes, and Cheyrou is in France for personal reasons.

So I'd start Delgado at RB and start Chapman in place of Vazquez.

Oso. If anyone sits, it should be Cooper. His diving cost us the last game.

    also helped us at times.
I feel confident even though Seba is gone as i do believe we have the back up players.
SHould be interesting as we still look like we need to shake off some rust, hopefully this is the game we do it.

I would consider swapping Osorio for Cooper. I see them as very similar players, whereas I think neither fill the AM role like Vazquez and Chapman do.

agreed. Let's hope the memories of BC place help Jozy finish a bit more than the first two matches

Too early to tell for Vazquez. I love what he has been saying, and he has pedigree as evidenced by the 40 yard pinpoint passes, but we don't know his weakness yet. As for Chapman, I hope he succeeds, fantastic, and yes he always looks for the forward ball, but he has a way to go before his all around game catches up to Oso. I'd love to see him and Oso on the pitch with the garner bucks players sold, but don't think he is quite there yet. Judging by his playing time, nor does the coaching staff.

One thing that bothering me about the modern game..."IT Band contusion" used to be a described as bruise on the thigh....or a charlie horse. It all went wrong when they changed the name of Physical Education to Kinesiology...

Actually that's different. A bruise on the thigh, or a charlie horse, is generally considered to be on the muscle. Potentially quite painful, but not that hard to rehab. An "IT Band Contusion" is an injury or bruise right on the iliotibial band, a ligament that runs on the outside of the leg, from thigh to shin. Obviously little padding there, hard to rehab, and even more painful. Also since the IT band provides stability to the knee, a weakness or awkward usage of that ligament due to pain, could cause further knee injury or other problems.

It shouldn't be that bad to rehab. a good manual osteopath can work it out pretty quickly. Unless he's already prone to IT bank tightness in which case he'll have to have constant work on it.

Probably a comfort thing. Wants a doctor he trusts, especially an Italian-speaking one. Sounds like this was a planned trip for the international break anyway.

There will be dozens of Italian speaking Doctors in the Toronto area. There must be something more to all this than a bruised leg. Giovinco hasn't played well since the fall - it seems like there is a bigger issue.

And there are dozens of leg specialists. Still took Jozy going to one in particular in California to get past his issues. Seba's always gone back to this doctor after injuries. Likely went back to see him during breaks and we never discussed it because it wasn't related to a specific injury.

One intersting fact in all this is this coaching staff knows what the muscles are. Makes me shudder at what Nelsen & short pants were ignoring in terms of training.

What kind of line-up will we see?

    -------------------Irwin-------------------
    --------Zavaleta--Moor---Mavinga------
    -Hagglund------------------------Morrow--
    ------Cooper---Bradley----Osorio--------
    -------Altidore-------Ricketts------------

Bench: Bono, Brunell, Morgan, Chapman, Vasquez (injured? maybe Edwards?), Hamilton

He needed some injections in his knee, I read somewhere. Not sure he starts (or even plays) on the turf.

Directly from The Sun "Giovinco is NOT seeking treatment for the contusion he suffered last week" So if that's the case then why is he not traveling with the team like he SHOULD be doing.

For the contusion, but we don't know if he's getting treatment for the injury he had at the end of last season.

Making a guy who isn't going to play travel domestic via Air Canada is not a good idea.
