TFC is running at a loss for the past two seasons. At some point, they'll have to evaluate their DP options. If China offers something like a 25 million transfer fee, you have to take it.

IIRC, the MLS record is 6.5m from Villarreal for Jozy? I'd bet any MLS player is available for a hypothetical fee of quadruple, even triple that. Would be difficult to blame ML$E for biting.

Well as only the agent knows about it so far ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Team hasn't been contacted according to Molinaro and Larson.

Seba interviewed in English today, BTW. Journos saying he speaks better then them.

TFC would be dumb not to take 20 mil plus for him, as long as they buy 2 players in return.

Mid and another striker and this team would be killing it, but don't think he is going anywhere.

Side note, my brother met Giovinco last summer and they were speaking Italian (so nothing lost in translation)...my bro said he was a super cool dude and even offered to grab a coffee with my bro. Said he loves Toronto and if he could he would be willing to retire here with TFC.

Says fans don't drive him nuts with autographs and his family loves it here, very safe and loves the vibe.

China aren't offering 20+ mill for him. He ain't a Jorge Mendes client.

Boca got 8-10m (depending on report) for Tevez. There is your ballpark.

Seba is happy here, not so sure he'd chase life in China.

If the logic is, MLSE is losing money so they are dumb not to take it. Well that would be dumb (although a very MLSE thing to do). If they want to put money back in the bank, then it doesn't go back on the pitch. They are trying to build the brand and sell seats, that stops with selling the league's best player.

If the logic is, MLSE can flip 25M into two players. That then involves moving Bradley or Altidore. Both players have become popular and last playoff was the heartbeat of this team. You'd basically blow up the core of a popular, successful side that has finally become a complete team. Absolute tomfoolery.

Is MLSE stupid enough? Yes. Do I believe in this much? Not really.

He has been (and is) an excellent servant to the club. Price has to be right but if it's what he wants let it happen.

He would be near impossible to replace but the money would certainty help.

Can't believe we're in preseason already.

Giovinco is going nowhere. Also, how is MLSE losing money? The cost of the stadium will be spread out over many years and is considered an investment. Surely with the play-offs we were profitable. Our revenue was more than 30 million in 2012.

The transfer fee? You sure you aren't mixing up the total deal figures?
The 18 million euros salary spread over a four-year contract that Witsel will earn is dwarfed by Tevez’s reported earnings, as in addition to the $11 million transfer fee that Shenhua reportedly paid Boca Juniors, the 32-year-old is set to make an eye-watering $760,000 per week.
Reports in China have since tempered this initial valuation and said that the two-year contract is worth $40 million (including the transfer fee) which would be around $278,500 per week and rather than being the best paid player in the world, would put Tevez behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Transfermarkt has the deal at 10.5MM http://www.transfermarkt.com/carlos-...l/spieler/4276

TYC Sports in Argentina had it at 8-10MM

His salary seems to be right from what I've read. Transfer fee looks to be what Areathrasher said.

    http://www.espnfc.com/story/3027973/...e-super-league

The total deal over two years is reported to be £32.5m ($40m) including the transfer fee, which works out at £226,000 per week and that would place Tevez significantly behind the reported salaries for Cristiano Ronaldo (£288,000 after tax) and Lionel Messi (£256,000 after tax).

I'm willing to wager that D'Amico is looking for some Chinese club to fly him out there, wine and dine him for a few days.

Then he'll give em the "Seba isn't available but I have this other player in Italy/Russia" that might interest you treatment.

Yep, the plan was to bring him into the pre-season and see if he was worthy of earning a contract.

Not worried in the slightest. Until a CSL club actually talks to MLSE (and MLS too, the league office would have to agree to the deal), this is more like an agent talking up his client. I'm not sure why, I doubt more $$ is coming from MLSE but who knows? Maybe to ratchet the pressure on Ventura to call up SG to the national team? Just guessing.

According to Vanney, Johann Brunel is in camp as a trialist. Finnish CB. 25 with 70 games in the second tier of the Finnish leagues.

Spoke to an acquaintance who said he was inconsistent on a mediocre team, didn't think he was MLS quality or at very most was bench material

That's bizarre. Finnish first division soccer is not elite soccer, I can only imagine what the second division is. I remember Tyler Hemming going to a Finnish first division club after washing out here.

We should be having a look around the Icelandic first division. That would make more sense. Those teams pay pennies.

Pretty sure he was playing first division in finland, not second. He was supposed to go to a second or third division german team but he tore his achilles and never really recovered his form.

    You mean Tyler Pasher, no?

Anyways according to Transfermarkt, Brunell was in the Finnish 2nd division this past season and played 20 games there, but in years prior he has 70 total appearances in the 1st division.

edit: Yeah, his team FF Jaro was relegated to the 2nd division to start last year. Before that all his time was spent with the team in the 1st division.
