FYI contrary to Bill, I noticed Red_CB_Toronto over on a Seattle Supporter's forum offering copious amounts of help and information to visiting Seattle fans. Let's all give him a round of applause for being such a sporting RPB Ambassador!

Might be screaming at the back of the head rather then the face of any Seattle fan as I suspect the Seattle fans won't have an inch of skin showing for our mild winter day.

    Forums are kinda outdated.

We mostly gather on newer media like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat. Stuff like that and maybe SounderAtHeart. There are a bunch of old style forums though if you know where to look. Each has their own crowd and narrative so we're kinda spread out. BigSoccer is almost certainly not a place we frequent.

I remember it well. I was there.

Same narrative by all the MLS know-it-alls. Seattle was going to "come down to earth in the difficult atmosphere of the mighty TFC." "Expansion teams always struggle on the road." "They'll be lucky to get a point." "The weather will be too harsh for their delicate bodies."

Then we did this... Good times....

We prefer to talk smack after the match rather than build trophy cases for ones we haven't won yet...

We prefer to do it like this....

See that wall that is perpendicular? No case on it there...but rumor has it we're about to build one for the MLS Cup since we ran out of space. Might as well start getting ready for the dynasty.....

Unanimously agreed that it was the shittest performance to ever win an MLS cup. Enjoy being a 'champion'* in your shitty NFL stadium.

With only 2,000 fans (our full allotment)? Don't be silly. You guys are loud and would give most teams in Cascadia (not including the Whitecaps) a run for their money.

Though it must be said that we could certainly hear our chants and songs on TV when you all got disorganized and nervous....and quiet.

I must also thank you for the Canadian hospitality of adopting our Boom-Boom-Clap chant to make our players and fans feel like home. Of course it's louder with 40,000-60,000 people but its the thought that counts this holiday season:

After the many years we played beautifully all season long and even in the playoffs and didn't get this far we'll take it...

As FourFourTwo magazine said: Don't judge us on one night, this was 8 years in the making...
    http://www.fourfourtwo.com/us/featur...t-years-making

Can we both agree the ref effing sucked. I wanted to see a better game with our skill players allowed to play but we did what we had to do.

How ironic that we played a great game of old school Italian Cantenaccio to shut down the best Italian to ever play in MLS?

Enjoy being a 'champion'* in your shitty NFL stadium.
Really? Enjoy being limited to under 40,000 fans by your little CFL stadium.... See, two can play at that game. You wanted bantz... you got it.

I guess most of you don't know our stadium was built as much for the Sounders and MLS as the NFL as it wouldn't have ever been built without the soccer vote...

    Read this article..
    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...attle-seahawks

And THIS was the ad that was all around town that got us to vote to build it:

For those who want the details of what happened then read on.

If MLS had kept their promise made in 1997 to have the next expansion be Seattle in 2004 then we might be having a far different conversation.

    "December 16, 1997

    Dear Seattle Sounder Supporter,

A heartfelt thanks from all of us at Major League Soccer for your support of the recent stadium initiative and for one of the oldest and proudest franchises in North American soccer - your Seattle Sounders.

As you know, with the passage of the stadium initiative, Major League Soccer will be in Seattle beginning with the 2002 or 2003 season. Though this may seem to be a long way off, it definitely is not.

    Sincerely
    Douglas G. Logan (signed)
    Commissioner
    Major League Soccer"
    http://www.examiner.com/article/twel...seattle-letter

Remember way back when in 2004...…

"MLS spokesman Simon Borg said the league's board of governors and commissioner Don Garber soon would settle on an additional expansion team for 2005.

"Expansion is coming down to the wire," Borg said. "We're hoping to have an announcement in the next week or so."

"Garber was quoted in a June 28 SportsBusiness Journal article as saying Seattle has an inside track in being awarded a franchise for 2005, and that Seahawks owner Paul Allen "is expected to have a significant interest in the team."

    http://www.seattlepi.com/default/art...on-1148874.php

But MLS was hell bent on Chivas USA.

    How'd that work out?

Additionally from 2001….before the stadium was approved due in large part to the soccer vote:

"First & Goal agreed to replace FieldTurf with natural grass if that issue prevented Seattle and the new stadium from obtaining an MLS team, or a potential World Cup or other international event. "

    http://www.seattlepi.com/sports/arti...um-1061008.php

So, turf haters, take it up with the league. If the league had a problem with Fieldturf or banned it then we'd have grass in Seattle by legal agreement.

Stop complaining to Seattle and start complaining to MLS headquarters in New York if you really want the natural stuff.

By the way, in 2007 there WAS a group who wanted to build a soccer specific stadium out in the burbs. But MLS was not interested in them for whatever reason:

"And there was the increasing chance an MLS club will call Seattle home in the near future.

A third investment group vying to expand the MLS into Seattle has emerged. Atletico Seattle, fronted by California investors Larry Kosmont and Nevin Sanli and former French soccer star Frank Lebouf, is deep in negotiations to own an expansion franchise in Seattle. The group is in the process of investigating eight $

Kosmont declined to say far the negotiations between Atletico Seattle and the MLS have advanced, but, like Sounders owner Adrian Hanauer, anticipates an announcement soon.

In addition to Atletico Seattle and Hanauer, a third group led by California investors Michael and James Keston has sought investment in an MLS franchise in Seattle, and a fourth individual investor appears to be in the lead."

I am actually kind of interested in this, but just can't get engaged today.

"Broadcasting" on FB, twitter, snapchat and IG is not Web 3.0. It's not discussion either. You have a unique/bizarre supporters culture if it's only happening on those platforms.

btw re Seattle, there are a couple of hundred people on Seahawks.net as I post this. Who are you kidding?
    http://www.seahawks.net/viewforum.php?f=2

    Anyways, enjoy your victory.
