Softest battle of all time.
Seriously though, with 1,500 away tickets allotted, BMO Field is going to see away support like its never seen before. It shouldn't be hard for us to get up for this one, but if things aren't going our way, we really can't afford to let spirits drop.
I totally agree. I've never bought soft ground boots. Pitches in southern Ontario are usually rock hard in the times we play.
Also, soccer is game with a lot of running. Hot temperatures force your body to spend energy regulating your body temperature. You don't perform optimally when it's hot. Saturday is a little on the cooler side (your body also has to spend energy to stay warm). But something like 5-6 is ideal running temperature. 0 to-3 isn't too far off ideal.
The temperature forecasts have been warming over the past 24 hours. -3 is the low now.
This will be a warm weekend for me it's -29 here!!!
I am already unable to work. And we still have a day and half left....
Re the cold: the reason why I believe it's meaningful is not a question of soccer per se.
I think it makes a difference whether you grew up in a cold winter climate or not. It's a mental thing just as much as a physical thing.
Sports is about having and exploiting tiny edges.
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Definitely a KEY POINT to the match
Actually I'm more afraid of Lodeiro sending Morris through against a leveraged Zaveletta. Our three CBs need to be inside the width of the box for our security and my sanity. I'm hoping Johnson can have a very effective day at stopping through balls to the outside channels.
He's from a mountainous city in Northern Italy. It's fucking freezing there during the winter. He'll be fine.
Just for some context re. Giovinco......
Kickoff temp for Juve's CL game yesterday v. Dinamo Zagreb at Juventus Stadium (in Torino) was +5 deg. C......
Turin is a lot closer to Zurich or Lyon than it is to say, Rome, which isn't even all that far south. The winters he's used to aren't all that different from ours.
Sounds good
Alonso and Brad Evans are listed as questionable. Both would be pretty big loses for Seattle.
Are we going to see the orange ball for this match?
two sleeps and one win away from a cup. Couldn't have asked for a better group of guys to represent us.
If you turn on the KC vs Oak nfl game...you will basically see how cold it will be like at BMO Field on Sat night...look how nice and bundled up they all are -8 there tonight
Ive been to a bills game and it was -20...the adreniline alone will make sat night feel like plus 8 ...mixed with a little alcohol...all 👍
Thankfully work is an avalanche of activity right now otherwise I'd be counting the hours.
Two more sleeps till all fun breaks lose.
