    agreed, overrated

if those VIP fans arent prepared, they will be cold and leave for the box, tunnel or home

that could take away our advantage

Seriously though, with 1,500 away tickets allotted, BMO Field is going to see away support like its never seen before. It shouldn't be hard for us to get up for this one, but if things aren't going our way, we really can't afford to let spirits drop.

    Hey ExiledRed;

    Are you still in Guelph?

in season 1 it was a bouncy plastic pitch and we couldnt possibly damage it any more than the Genesis concert. It also wasn't the MLS cup final which meant that at the end of the game, everybody other than the fans and the stadium workers got the fuck out of the stadium. After this game they'll be doing promotional and media stuff for quite some time.

We might not be using the pitch again til next year, but we cant have a thousand fans in random footwear running on it. they did a fine job after the grey cup, but come on!!!

you guys still kill me though. love ya

I totally agree. I've never bought soft ground boots. Pitches in southern Ontario are usually rock hard in the times we play.

Also, soccer is game with a lot of running. Hot temperatures force your body to spend energy regulating your body temperature. You don't perform optimally when it's hot. Saturday is a little on the cooler side (your body also has to spend energy to stay warm). But something like 5-6 is ideal running temperature. 0 to-3 isn't too far off ideal.

The temperature forecasts have been warming over the past 24 hours. -3 is the low now.

Re the cold: the reason why I believe it's meaningful is not a question of soccer per se.

I think it makes a difference whether you grew up in a cold winter climate or not. It's a mental thing just as much as a physical thing.

Sports is about having and exploiting tiny edges.

I can see the psychological, and that most likely wears on them more than us. So everyone should keep bringing it up!

But running in -3? They'll be sweating fast and forget temperatures.

Definitely a KEY POINT to the match

Actually I'm more afraid of Lodeiro sending Morris through against a leveraged Zaveletta. Our three CBs need to be inside the width of the box for our security and my sanity. I'm hoping Johnson can have a very effective day at stopping through balls to the outside channels.

drake would get killed, not a freestyler in anyway shape or form

    back to soccer.
Seba was a little over dressed at training, maybe his little body doesnt handle the cold as much as we'd had hoped

Turin is a lot closer to Zurich or Lyon than it is to say, Rome, which isn't even all that far south. The winters he's used to aren't all that different from ours.

Average winter lows there are about the same as what we'll see on Saturday. But that is a LONG way from winters here.

Alonso and Brad Evans are listed as questionable. Both would be pretty big loses for Seattle.

It's an image made by Sounders.
    Thought it looked good.
But maybe I'll delete the post in case any superstitious people freak out.

btw, our tower would beat their tower in an epic tower sword fight 10 times out of 10!
