Classic first season (2007) rickroll, BN. Thanks!
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

I remember the goal - but was it really a free kick and not a cross that turned into a ball that kept flying, and the only thing that stopped it was the back of the net?

Hascanovic, and they were latvian. That team also featured famed midfield bruiser Martin Saric, who six months after being cut was in a Dade county jail for holding up a Walmart IIRC.

Wasn't there a huge goalkeeper (for Civas I think) that was being stretchered off but the people lifting the thing let their corner go? Or was that Adam Braz when he went back to Montreal? I forget.

I was on the Columbus trips in 2008 and 2009 (especially 2009 when we took over that fucking parking lot!!).

I saw Laurent Robert score a goal on a free kick, Amado Guavaras magic while he was here and yes, Rick Titus signing a one day contract to play with TFC because we were missing 9 regulars!

But the bad hits kept coming and sucking the passion out of me -- the 5 - 0 game against NYRB, The DeRO check signing (I was at that game!) The Aaron Winter Years ("the worst team in the world"), Jermaine Defoe, but I would always come back to these boards and read the TFC Trialist / Movement Thread, the game threads and passionate discussion and it would inspire me to march on in spirit with the RPB.

It's because of you guys, not just the players on the field, that we're here today.
That the celebrations are just as hard and passionate as they were on Day One.

A tip of the hat to you RPB, I will be with you on Saturday, December 10th.
Just have to tune up my voice. :-)

Do you still sing the Jim Brennan song?
Well Said and hope to see you at Joe's come Saturday!

    Loved that Jimmy Brennan song!

    ^Serioux! Excellent shout.

The TFC takeover of Columbus in 2008 was an unreal thing. We've never seen anything like that since.
(I've certainly never seen as many guys taking a leak next to a fence since.)

RE the "two Russians" or "two Latvians" -- Raivis Hščanovičs is Latvian. Maxim Aleksandrovich Usanov is Russian. They would probably both prefer we don't confuse that. They were both with TFC in 2010.

I remember "get used to it" from Payne RE summer friendlies. Now Payne is long gone, we didn't have any friendlies this year, so who is getting used to what?

I'm actually tearing thinking about this... near the end if we are winning we need to do this chant - stadium wide! That would put me tears...
