Anyone in Montreal tonight, that wants to hang out with other road warriors?
PM me.
O, Maple Leaf around the world, You speak as you rise high above,
Of courage, peace and quiet strength, Of the Canada that I love.
Remind us all, our union bound by ties we cannot sever,
Bright flag revered on every ground, The Maple Leaf forever
Yeah the 6pm sucks for me. My bus gets in at 4:20 so I might have enough time to quickly eat something at McLeans and then time to go. The two games I saw at Saputo they always told us to be there an hour before kickoff (I guess because there were less of us). I was fully expecting to leave McLeans at about 6:15. Oh well, might have to miss the bouncy castle subway this time.
I just saw a picture of TFC boarding a flight to Montreal. The airline is Norlinor which is a charter flight operator. I thought MLS teams could not arrange charter flights to away games.

They can do them a certain number of times a year. TFC has used theirs before for trips to Salt Lake City to avoid layovers and added travel time that comes with it.Originally Posted by A Stick;[URL="tel:1820843"

Just a back up comment on the 5pm departure time: Seems unreasonable however factor this in:
1. A large mass of fans, traveling at rush hour on an already overwhelmed transit system
2. travel time from Peel station to Viau is around half an hour, on a good day. Do not skip ahead to McGill, station is under construction.
3. Subway departure times are are every 3-5 minutes at peak hours (4-6pm) and 4-11 minutes off peak.
4. By the time everyone gets off of the subway (may take a while to accommodate an extra almost 2000 people at rush hour) a security escort will accompany the away section to the stadium, which may also take a while.
5. Getting through security will also take some time, as will getting to your seats.
I'd say that 2 hours fly by and you're in your seats with a comfortable amount of time before the game starts to get settled in.
Leave late if you wish, however I don't think getting in on your own among thousands of classless and disrespectful Montreal fans would be worth the extra pint or two at Mclean's. If your flight/train doesn't make it early enough to allow you to be there at 5pm, that's just unfortunate and hopefully you can group up with others that are in the same situation. (no disrespect intended to those who fell victim to late flights/trains)
Godspeed to our fans, players and the crest we wear with pride.
I think the general point is: If everyone shows up at 6pm or a bit later due to traffic / transit delays, then they have to do careful security checks incl. plenty of supporters paraphernalia -- no way that will work. If most people try to come early, a few come at 7pm that have to -- better chance for things to go smoothly.
5 of us are en route to mtl right now. Wheres the spot tn?
I'm on the Megabus right now about 2 hours outside of Montreal! Would be good to all get together! PM me your plans. I'm at the Comfort Suites Downtown so anything around there will be manageable for me. 4 of us
So the people at Mcleon's, we still leaving at 6:15 pm via subway?
I emailed Jeremie asking if we have to be at the gate at 6:00pm and this is his responce...
"You may enter at any time but I strongly suggest you try to be there as close to 6PM as possible".
Give or take, it seems like they really want us at the Big O at 6:00pm
I've said to anyone who will listen, going 2 hours early for a 2 hour game is stupid and irresponsible for them to request.
There will be a group going for 6 and a group going for 630-7, safety in numbers and we'll be fine.
what's the consensus on cabs/uber?
traffic bad?
don't care about cost
Bite me.
I was there - Montreal 18/6/09 - 6-1 baby!

They want you there for 6pm so that they can get you to buy beer at their prices.
They'll be ready to serve you with counters full of beer pre-poured.
Pre-pissed-in, too.
Gotta wonder who was prime minister the last time they cleaned the tap lines at the big O...
I'm guessing Joe Clark.
For some reason they tweeted excitedly about how many doors there are going to be. Definitely seems like a worry

I'm in Montreal with a friend tomorrow - are there any tickets still available? Can someone let me know ASAP, otherwise i'll have to support the local Montreal economy and buy them there...
Thanks!

any idea how many rallybuses? I guess for the rallybus rider (like me) will get in the stadium @ 6pm. Bus arrival time is 5pm outside the stadium so no enough time to go anyways
Traffic bad. You'll 2/3 of the way quicker but the last couple kms are murder - and that's with 20k people.
all of 4 tickets remain available on ticket pro for tomorrow night.

Out of sheer curiosity what is the purpose of that silly leaning tower beside it? Looks like part of Mega Maid from Spaceballs.
Believe it was used to open the roof when they could still do that.
