I just re-watched our previous games against NYC and I cannot for the life of me figure out why we haven't picked them apart. I think we should stick with the 3-5-2 and try and drive against their backline as much as possible. They are foot slow and have a tendency to bleed goals. The combination of Moor , Zavs and Hagglund seems to be working so why re-invent the wheel. I say 3-1 to the good. I want a clean sheet but Villa only needs 1 tiny lapse to make you pay.
As it is, the 7 p.m. start means it won't be on the "regular" TSN, but TSN2, again.
They built the house on Lakeshore for the Reds...Sunday can't come soon enough !!! While it would be warmer at 3 pm, looking forward to the 7 pm start under the lights. Pretty sure it won't be as friendly as this once the whistle blows.

Silviu Petrescu will be the ref for this one.
Betting line:
Toronto -128
NYCFC +368
Draw +300
Toronto FC,#CMNT & #CWNT, Scotland, Heart of Midlothian FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC
"The Harder the Struggle, The Greater the Reward" - @OsoJ92AWAY DAYS - CHICAGO August 2017, MONTREAL March 2018
Any halftime band for this one?
goes like this.....
odds in that form are based on $100 bets, soooo....
on Sunday, if you bet $100 on TFC, you will win back $78.13 (plus your $100 wager)
or to keep the numbers in whole dollars, bet $128 to win back $100 (plus your $128 bet)
if you bet $100 on NYCFC, you'll win back $368 (plus your initial wager)
if you bet $100 to draw, you'll win back $300 (plus your wager)
any odds with a "-" in front signifies a "favourite"......any odds with a "+" in front signifies and underdog bet.....the bigger difference between the "-" and "+" numbers, the larger an upset win it would be if the "+" bet wins.
In short....Vegas likes our chances on Sunday......
^ Ha. I did some splaining on this front for the Wednesday night line I posted.
You're in for a treat with Skratch Bastid. Definitely a fav for myself. Couple vid's to help you get to know him. Also, a real dj no button pushing type.

i really like odds in decimal format, for some reason my brain cannot grasp this us odds format.
paddy power has us at 1.73 as of now (58% probability of a win)
just take 1/the decimal odds to get the implied probability) 1/1.73=0.58
bet $100 get back $73 plus your original $100
this is pretty good odds for us to win
philadelphia game we were at 1.44 which was great odds
the short days rest affected the odds plus better opponent
but i bet if we had 7 days off we would have been at around 1.60 odds

Altidor just interviewed at the raps game...he said there is about a 1000 seats left for sunday
I rewatched quite a few nycfc highlights and they are very much a beatable team.
They are weak defending set pieces and their defenders crumble under the high press. This is exactly how NYRB beat them every time including that 7-0 win.
Our key is to defend strong. Don't give any space to Villa to run onto free balls. Play as tight as possible to Pirlo and Lampard so they can't provide service. And continue to press hard like against Philly.
Gonna be a star filled and exciting match that's for sure.
The TSN website is indicating that TSN1 and TSN4 will have not only the TFC game, but also Mtl vs NYRB at 4pm (CFL Stamps vs Alouettes is at 1pm so will join in progress), LAG v Rapids at 5pm and TFC vs NYFC at 7pm. TSN2 carries Seattle v FC Dallas. So TSN will have majority of the MLS games on the main network.
Things looking good for a packed stadium as per John Molinaro's recent tweet. "There are less than 1000 tickets available for Sunday's #TFC game against NYCFC, I'm told."

With the experience of Wednesday night fresh in our minds, the momentum is building for this Sunday when the Reds take on NYCFC back down at the house on Lakeshore. This is ever so apparent with the news than less than 1,000 seats remain available for the evening matchup, proving the appetite and passion for playoff footy in our fine city and all that it brings from Seba, Jozy, the southend and beyond. Dam why did it take so long for this that I ask, but in many ways that is what all that has happened so far even more amazing, emotionally draining and practically teary eyed that I could have ever expected.
Through the ups and downs of 10 seasons with the Reds, how would anyone forget our age of innocence when being down at BMO was so fresh, each experience was a new one. That it many ways was what Wednesday gave back to us. The experience of something new, one we will never forget. I am sure Sunday will be the same. To love for the RPB, forever Red, Toronto til I Die !!!

Glad to see Sunday's game is almost sold out. Was a bit disappointed to see attendance for Wednesday's game was only ~22,000.
I'm thinking TFC will jump all over NYC in the first leg (3-0 or 3-1), and then have a big slog of it in New York in the second leg. But I think TFC can prevail in the end.
Phew that's a relief or I might have been in trouble with a colleague at work. He's a general sports fan who though may be a little interested in TFC, won't go out of his way to watch them. Anyway, he knows I am a huge fan and so on Thursday he came by to ask me why on Earth he couldn't watch the last playoff game on TV? I explained to him about how it was put on TSN 2 and his reaction was just as we have been saying: How are they going to grow the fan interest if they keep putting it on obscure channels??? He said how he didn't care for the Raptor opener or the World Series game that night. He wanted to watch TFC! He's not going to miss the NYFC game.
