Default Gardiner Full Closure This Weekend

Looks like the Better Way may be the 'only' way to match this weekend:

Thanks for the heads up. "The city says it’s a good weekend for a closure because no major events are scheduled downtown.". I guess 30,000 people at the CNE grounds on Sunday to attend a soccer match is a minor gathering. Haha.

    World's Best Located Stadium

Good luck to those coming in from the north. Google says TTC from Newmarket would take 1hr and 33 mins assuming you make the connections

Water taxis are great in NYC to get around rush hour. Might work in these cases if we had anything like that here. I guess not a strong business case for them in TO.

    LOL

If your coming in from Newmarket, go to Downsview station or Wilson, not Finch.

If coming from west-end, I have found that parking at Kipling and taking the subway to Dufferin and bus down saves a lot of time.

It's almost like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for people to get to the game. I wonder if there's an Argo fan on the city's transportation planning board.

That's just a closure of the new underpass portion of Dufferin, the bus is still operating and diverting to what used to be the Dufferin bus route (Peel/Gladstone/Queen).

West to east taxi boat could have pick-ups at Marie Curtis, Humber Bay and Sunnyside.

Note that there is also a partial reduction of service on the Lakeshore West line, between Appleby and Aldershot As I'm in the east end, I'm not even sure where these stations are.

Just a note for Sunday's game: the highway is closed and all transit options are shut down for scheduled maintenance. Plan accordingly.

    Appleby - eastern Burlington
    Aldershot - western Burlington

I note that it's only certain trains that end at Appleby - the 6:13 from Union is one of them (and is the first one after the game).

Until the last 3 years, GO only put stations where they could build massive parking lots. They still see themselves as a commuter to the downtown core service.

Sunday looks looks like a nice day for a bike ride.

This season there used to be a ton of bike racks near the NW entrance to the field. Sadly they've been gone & not replaced since the Ex. Very annoying. I'll likely be fighting with FYR for the last decent spot to lock a bike.
