Houston has to have one of the worst pitches among the SSS’s in the league. Home to a few college gridiron teams it gets torn up more often than not.

Toyota Park is a palace. All brick, great aesthetics. Big concourse up top with tons of food/drink/washroom facilities.

Of course you only get that in the burbs, where land is cheap. Not surprised to hear Avaya is more like BMO, given that it is also in a downtown location.

That doesn't make it any less silly

But we digress from the topic of the thread. What's the pitch looking like for tomorrow?

The new one Avaya? The one with the long bar at north end?

They made things a bit better in the 2015-16 reno, but it will always be a meccano set stadium.

But I'm fine. It's an SSS with the two things I care about, grass and good sightlines.
its our house. compared to watching the Lynx at Centennial Park, it was magnificent in 2007, even with turf

It was originally a temporary suite they setup for MLS Cup, but it stuck around. I noticed quite a few people in it last game, so I'm guessing that they've decided to continue selling it out.

And if they had done the North Stands the way the showed us in the original art work it would have scored higher.. but not enough money and the argos ruin everything they touch.

So.....this is going to be another rough one for the pitch with the current forecast. It is really going to get torn up tonight if the heavy rainfall warning comes true. Might actually see some pools of mud.

The pitch still looked rough but it seemed to hold up better during the game than before, which is actually a bit amazing given the amount of rain.

Wonder if they changed their procedure at all.

It was getting ripped up pretty good tonight in places. Hopefully its in decent shape for Saturday's TFC2 game. I am sure there are some people who would love to see the game played elsewhere. To bad Lamport is not ready.

Overall the pitch looked better than I expected.

But check Giovinco's PK. In slow motion, you can see the turf & mud spraying.

Yeah I noticed that too. Fortunately, the grounds crew will have a few weeks to work their magic.

I thought it held up better than I imagined although Seba didn’t hold back about the state of the pitch during his post game interview last night.

It's been horrible this year. For the obvious reason it's hard to grow anything in February. But I have to wonder if it will ever recover this year? It's never going to get the time to properly grow.

    DC match is June 13.

Pitch will either be laid after the May 25 game (2 weeks for it to set before next TFC home game), or after the rescheduled game June 13 (2.5 weeks to next TFC home date BUT, pretty sure the Argos have a home game in there somewhere)

The Argos home opener is June 23 and as of right now reports suggest their home pre-season game is going to be played at the University of Guelph.

So the pitch must be getting worse, thus in terrible shape. The TFCII game tomorrow has been moved to Pittsburgh due to unplayable pitch conditions at BMO Field. Looks like the Reds dodged a bullet big time in more ways than one by moving the DC United game to June.
