Every wonder what BMO would look like with a concert? I'm having mixed feelings about it. What do you guys think? Click the link below to see

If Rogers sold off MLSE, maybe then they'd do concerts at BMO. Until then, I don't see Rogers appreciating another internal competitor for that 25-30K concert size.

They were ripping up the grass anyways after the Leafs game, weren't they? I guess it's good that it isn't too cold so that they can prep the ground for laying new sod sooner than later.

wish they would replace those foam mats that cover the concrete with something that doesn't cause the players to wipe out on it every time

So an obscure and poorly researched article about Rugby Union, in a Scottish newspaper, name checks BMO field for play during the winter months.

It includes this wacky set of lines:

It is planned to home the Canadian franchise in Toronto, utilising the BMO Stadium – which currently houses Toronto FC – where Scotland’s rugby team played Canada in 2014. It is open to the elements, the mercury drops below zero and generally stays there from December to February, but the stadium is due to be developed with a roof.
A comment below the article suggests the roof discussed is somebody not understanding that BMO was adding a roof for the seats, not the pitch.

But gosh can you imagine somebody trying to play anything down there in the weather we get in January and February.

Latest pitch discussion - a bit more balanced from Laura Armstrong

Will not be the best for March...but its March. Groundskeeper confident they can do better.

I will be able to provide a very unique perspective on the condition of the pitch throughout the season.

25th - Ticats @ Argos (OSKI WE WE)

    27th - Impact @ TFC

That is going to be a test.

The pitch is very soft and easy to run on. The west touch line to about 10 yards in in soccer dimensions is covered by a tarp for the players benches during cfl games. You can tell The grounds crew does an amazing job! The pitch is manicured perfectly and very well maintained. The softness comes from what I assume is sand underneath and is very easy on the knees, ankles and back all of which are body parts that ache after running on fields like downsview and other turfs.

The downside is that because of the softness it does divit and chunk quite a bit. The grounds crew certainly have their work cut out for them making repairs. By the end of an Argo game it looks like someone was walking around practicing their golf chipping.

It will be interesting to see how sturdy the repairs are after short turnaround times and perhaps bad weather games, but the perfection of the pitch at the start of the game makes me very optimistic in the talent of the grounds crew.

Went to the Argos game last night. Looks like the pitch has shifted about 10 yards south, looks like they are partially using turf for both endzones now, rather than last year one endzone was completely turf. Maybe a maintenance strategy?

I was at the Womens game today and was about 13 rows back of the pitch. It looked in extremely good shape. The real test will come at the end of the month however.

Indeed. The only reminder that an Argos game was played there was the empty north end where there are usually stands for our games. Looked weird - kinda like a waste of space. But other than that, it looked good. Lots of groundskeepers out during half time fixing stuff.

Great pics, the only reminder of any other type of being played on that surface appear to be the roof pylons and from what looks like the backup rugby surface

We stuck around after the game for a bit and the grounds crew was out working the pitch after the game as well. There didn't appear to be any worrisome spots for them, it just appear like regular maintenance to me. I agree with the north end. It looked weird and out of place without the usual seating and concession area.

No. Was the same as last year. North endzone starts at goal line.
