Well, we tie but miss the bye. Disappointed, but if TFC gets a win at home it should set up TFC for a good playoff run.

Oh well, a point is better than none. Disappointed we couldnt get a win and 2nd place. I suppose a win in Montreal is always a big ask, but that moment of madness from Morrow cost us dear. Looks like third place and a home playoff against Montreal, or Philli, is our lot, unless of course NYCFC collapse at home to Columbus, which is highly unlikely

Could still squeak second in the last week, as NYCFC lost.

My sentiments exactly, where do we need fixing? We should be stomping and steamrolling over these shite teams..
We need more solidified rolls in the midfield and a player capable of chipping in the odd goal from midfield. Maybe Cooper is that guy, but i'd still like to see him own the middle and have better true wide players.

Teams key on a few of our better attacking players and otherwise leave the balance to bumble along, counting on the fact the crosses or shots will end up in row z.

This game was a steaming pile of Bumbaclott!! We should be an elite team, we've got a solid midfield (attacking and in defence we've been good all year) and depth now, so where are we weak? Is it Osorio? The formation? Coaching? Inconsistency?

Edit: Didn't see the post above before I posted!

I think the break hurt us more then helped us. This team tends to take a couple games to get going.

Seba hasnt played in a month.

Also I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Cheyrou!

I will answer that statement with a fairly accurate number for you.

    1) we will not lose to chicago, maybe, maybe 10% chance of a chicago win vs tfc
therefore we get tie or win

the odds on nyfc columbus game should come in at

    1.9 nyfc
    4.0 columbus
    3.5 tie

so that means nyfc has around 50% chance of winning the game next week

we get second with a columbus win or tie game

so we have 50/50 chance of getting second place

Setting aside the fact that teams with width can really stretch TFC out, they have a CDM who isn't a CDM and a CAM who isn't a CAM. That isn't setting your midfield up for success on a consistent basis. It will work at times but on days like today, it's a struggle.

Disappointing match, for all kinds of reasons. But I'll take the point. Now our side just needs a win and... Columbus gets at least a tie with NYCFC so our side can get the bye week and avoid the knockout round.

Bradley's error and feeble giveaway was every bit as crucial as Morrow's foul.

Osorio can't play CAM. I like him a lot but he blows way too many excellent opportunities. All it will take is one better player and he'll be riding the bench unless he works on his shooting.

Is Bradley overrated or is he just not suited for a DM? He's no where worth 6 million dollars playing like this.
How are the stats now for when he plays vs when he doesn't?

    I love Cooper.

433 with Gio, Altidore, Ricketts looks promising. Need Johnson back to slot in midfield for Delgado.

Actually, that's on the 2 other midfielders to recognize and for one of them go and cover the space Bradley departed. I would say more Delgado as bradley was drifting to his left. Delgado should have understood and drifted inside to provide cover.

thats what caused the easy counter. Will Johnson in Delgado position today and I think tfc wins this game. We had more quality going forward, we adjusted well in the second half. Deserved the draw if not the win.

So, assuming we probably finish 3rd not 2nd, who do you think we would want to play in the knock out game between Impact and Union?. I would say Union based on their crappy form of late and the fact that Impact have Piatti.
But from a big game point of view how awesome would it be to play our first ever home play off game against our biggest rivals.

Mtl is our bogey team. Any game with them is 50 /50 so not to our advantage. I'd take Philly any day.

Plus with a lack of media attention a game vs mtl would be better in later rounds should both teams progress.

3-6 placed teams play a one game knockout round with 3rd and 4th place hosting the games. We are guaranted at least 3rd so we play whoever comes in the 6th and final playoff spot unless we can squeak into a 2nd place spot with a win vs Chicago and a nycfc tie or loss to Columbus in nyc.

I want the Union - they are a dumpster fire right now.

Assuming we get through that, I'll gladly play NYCFC over DCU. Not only the chance to watch those DP's actually play here but DCU is on fire right now and might take NYRB down.

There are worse places to be then 3rd.

It was not the best of performances, however what we did show was that we can go into a difficult place to play and come away with a result including coming back from behind twice. I think that bodes well if we make it to the 2 leg semi.
And give Vanney a little credit for the adjustment he made late on that helped us get the tie. Bringing back Giovinco into a deeper position totally screwed the Impact up and created some good opportunities. And even though Endoh needs a lot of work on his game I think he was a good sub too since he brings a lot of energy and he looked to make things happen every time he got the ball. He was very unlucky with that rebound attempt, struck the ball really well but was denied by an excellent defensive interception.
