Interesting that they are honouring Toronto's last soccer championship the Toronto Metros Croatia, who won the SoccerBowl in 1976 in Seattle against the Minnesota Kicks. That was Toronto's last soccer championship, the NASL was a big time North American pro soccer league maybe not as big as the MLS is now but it was pretty big, once that league folded after the 1984 season there was not a big time league in North America until the MLS came around in 1996. I remember that game in Seattle was on national tv in the US on CBS so everyone was able to get the game. The Metros had their own Giovinco with their former Portugal World Cup star Eusebio one of the best players ever in World Soccer, he was instrumental in Toronto capturing the championship, so it's kind of cool that they are honouring that team when now TFC seems on their way to a run of their own to possibly becoming champions themselves, maybe the winning spirit of the Toronto Metros Croatia's championship team of 1976 can bring good luck to TFC of 2016 40 years later.
