Default Other MLS Games August 5-7

    Friday

NYCFC @ SJE 11pm - Hey, wern't Pirlo and Villa just there and leaving early?
Why you should stay up and watch this game - we are chasing NYC
    Prediction: 2-1

    Saturday

Union @ DCU 7pm - Retooling Teams Derby Version 1
Why you should watch this game later - we play Philly in a couple of weeks and they retooled to get better now, not for next season
    Prediction: 3-2

Houston @ Montreal 7:30pm - In theory a mismatch but this is MLS
Why you should watch this game later - we go to Houston next week and Montreal comes to us in 3
    Prediction: 0-4

Vancouver @ Colorado 9pm - Where the mountian meets the sea goes to the mountains
Why you should watch this game later - Can Robbo's offence get through 90 minutes in the thin air?
    Prediction: 1-2

Chicago @ RSL 10pm - One team giving up on the season meets one team looking to get back on track
Why you should watch this game - Plata is more fun to watch when he's not playing us
    Prediction: 0-3

    Sunday

SKC @ Portland 4pm - Western clash of two decent offences - defences not so much
Why you should watch this game - the TIFO should be interesting but Portland really needs this win to stay near the red line in an increasingly tough Wesst
    Prediction: 2-1

Seattle @ Orlando 7pm - Retooling Teams Derby Version 2
Why you should watch this match - first game where Kreis really has his stamp on the team - different tactics release Larin
    Prediction: 0-3

NYRB @ LAG 9:30pm - Statement Game For One Team
Why you should watch this match - GAME OF THE WEEK
    Prediction: 1-3

And let's keep Villa off the scoresheet. Seba is chasing his golden boot spot.

Woulda been nice if they lost, but a draw is ok too.
By next week, TFC has a real shot at being first in the east.

now this is some good trolling by Timbers supporters on SKC
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

SKC manages to take an 11-10 position and turn it into a 3-0 loss.

Orlando Wall does a rather pathetic and rushed version of the clap. Lodeiro looking really good but a hint of offside on 2 of those goals.

3 Red Bulls subbed off before 50 minutes for injuries. Not sure how serious any of them are.

RBs up 1-0. Should be an exciting final 20 minutes. LA definitely needs to get something going.

Grajeda misses 2 stonecold PKs for NYRB and LA comes back 2 down to draw 2-2.

2 late goals for LA and the game ends 2-2. Missed penalty calls for the Red Bulls, but it helps us. They're on 33 points now with an extra game played, instead of only being 1 point back had they won.

I can certainly understand Jessie Marsh's frustration (leading to his ejection). Two missed PK calls. Both were reasonably obvious, the second being extremely obvious.

Good result for us of course!

Well watched both games tonight and some good results for TFC. Orlando went down and NYRB only got a point tonight. However, feel bad for NYRB they were robbed tonight by the referee in a number of ways. Some terrible tackles by LA resulting in a number of injuries including NYRB best striker. All of which should have had a yellow card and one case could have been a red card. So LA should/could have been down a man. Then as noted above 2 clear penalty kicks not given. If ever anyone wanted suggest the league favours LA in terms of a conspiracy theory watch this game.

God help us if Hilario (Hilarious) Grajeda every refs any of our games.

Also came away thoroughly unimpressed with LA. Despite their points and position not a strong team at either end of the field. Based on that game I feel the Eastern Conference is much stronger than the Western Conference.

Over all the weekend results really helped TFC.

NYRB play the limpact next week. A draw there would definately be nice.

Peter Walton, head of PRO, is supposed to be on the ESPN FC panel program today or tomorrow. He is going to get an earful regarding this match.

The Canadian feed was showing a replay at the time, maybe they pulled the images from the US feed.

Drama in US Open Cup semi finals at LA. LA takes lead on a dos Santos PK in extra time, but Dallas puts 2 goals off corners incl a last kick of the game and wins 2-1 in extra time.

NE thrashes Chicago for other semi final.

    Replays are interesting.

Rowe made no attempt to try to save the first Dallas goal.

Then Cole bungles the second one (all he needed to do was stick out his foot - he watched it go by)

Also interesting because the PK called in LA's benefit, was so similar to the two uncalled PKs against LA in their previous game vs. NYRB.
