I feel he talks a big game about South America, making it sound like it's on the table, but can't actually deliver that, because TFC isn't spending resources down there, or hiring people that know that market.

Did you press him on the point? The reality is he has relied, just like Mo and Winter and all the rest, on Euro players when spending (Perquis, Kantari, now Ricketts)

I think the line "if you go to Argentina, those players take time to adjust" probably shows his attitude to South America in regards to any immediate plans. I know Laba isn't an attacking mid but he settled in pretty quickly when he joined us.
South America is tough and you're right we don't have the resources. There's a false belief that every player down there is a rough diamond that just needs a little polish, but it's not like that. It's like any region in the world, there are all levels of players and you have to do your research properly.

The one thing in that article that was probably the most disturbing was the use of the "rookie netminder" reference to Bono. Although probably in essence, factually correct, I can honestly say I have never heard that description for a football goalkeeper used before lol.
