Morning D and respect for your daily news efforts!!!
I was wondering why Q didn't get that shot when Irwin went down.
Vanney's reasoning sounds logical enough.
Q plays a lot on the USL side. He has made some great stops, but still has the occasional goof. He distributes the ball well, but the quality of play is not equivalent so it's not really real world - he can get the ball to an open area, but can the player get to the ball - that kind of thing. You can check out the TFCII games on the YouTubes, I believe they have them archived.
Road Games:
2013 - Montréal , 2014 - Orlando (Disney Classic), Montréal
2015 - Columbus, New England, Montréal
2016 - NYCFC (Leg 2 Conference Semis), Montréal (Leg 1 Conference Final)
2017 - Ottawa (Leg 1 Canadian Championship Semi), DCU, Red Bulls (Leg 1 Conference Final), Columbus (Leg 2 Conference Final)
2019 - Montréal, NYCFC (Eastern Conference Semi @ Citi Field), Seattle (MLS Cup Final)
ya - shot stopping is one thing, but the rest is very important.
The fact that he isn't playing the ball with his teammates strengths/weaknesses in mind is concerning.
If he gets the ball to open space and his teammates are not getting to it - then there is a problem there. he needs to rethink his approach - either distribute differently or reorganize the play going out.
